Had to cut myself off from this show tonight. It has officially started to freak me out and scare me....
Also well done to those who do keep it in. However if you find yourself shouting? Don't be ashamed because you think people may judge you, as it seems they do. Sod 'em. You do what works for you.

Being given an episiotomy without the local and baby boy having a 38cm head I screamed BLOODY murder! And I'd do it again! xxx

Quite right too! For me it was agonising. I screamed because it really hurt! But, I'm doing it again haha. Besides I could have coped if not for lack of progression. 19 hours in I defy anyone to stay silent .
Birth is such an individual experience! I think it's unfair to say they're exaggerating or being over the top. You have no idea what it's like for them!
This is not meant to scare anyone, but posts saying 'it doesn't hurt that much! They're being dramatic' don't help either. Birth is painful. This is a fact. It's not a bad thing though! Up to a point it is totally bearable, but that point differs for everyone.
Please don't make women feel like if they shout they are somehow being dramatic, or are doing less well than a woman who stays silent! Anyone who has a baby has a story to tell, be proud however you do it! If you shout, swear, or punch your partner, you will be doing something amazing, and you will be doing the very best you can.
Nobody over-dramatises labour, they certainly aren't thinking about it at the time. They are just reacting in the best way they can, and doing a damn fine job.
