Just wondering if any twin mums out there would like to share their stories on whether one cot is better in the the first 3 months or to buy 2 from day 1? We can fit both in and would buy them with slats so they could see each other but not sure if there are any more pros to sleeping in the same cot. I read it doesn't effect increases in cot death by sharing so would love to hear options xxx

thanks mummies

My twins aren't here yet but i am going to put them in there own cots from day one. I feel they would get too used to having each other in their cot and it would be a nightmare to separate them.

We will also be using a movement sensor monitor and they will only really work if they are in their own cots.

We are planning on one for at least the first 3 months. Not only is it economical but seems natural to us. I have had friends who have been able to use 1 crib for 2 babies for 6months and would have it any other way. You carried them together 9 months why split them up the second they are born? Good Luck.

Hi,

My twins are due Feb and I plan to put them in the same cot for the first 3 months if possible. A few people with twins have told me they done the same and the hospital said it is a good idea. I like the idea of them being close and having each other.

Lisa my twin boys are due in Feb also. So exciting thats all hehe!

I'm undecided as to what to do about sleep arrangements - we were originally going to buy the cots and have them share until they need more space. But now we have been offered two cribs by a friend of ours. OH thinks it would be a good idea to get them used to their own beds from an early age, but I'm not too sure !
I just don't know what to do for the best !

I should have been due march 2nd, but they said they will be here by February !
I have a scan on Thursday and hopefully, we will find our what we are having ! I'll be nearly 17 weeks at the scan !

We did one in the beginning, but once they started waking eachother, and rolling over eachother, we switched to 2 right next to eachother..They still love to sit and talk to eachother when they're supposed to be sleeping! And, they sleep through eachother's cries...

I have a cot bed in our room and their room. We also have the wave rocker from mamas & papas which lies baby flat so we have loads of options in case they disturb each other on the not so good nights!

The girls have always slept in their own moses baskets / cots.
Also I use sensor monitors so if I had 2 in one bed they wouldn't work properly xxx

I'm planning on using two, but we'll see how it goes and make adjustments from there.

My boys shared a cot for the first 6 months, then I put them in their own cot. Had no trouble with them adjusting though. Their cots are side by side so I guess that helps.

I got a cot bed for each of them. My boy couldn't sleep properly without being next to his sister for the first couple of weeks though! I would say to get 2 straightaway though, they didn't share a cot for long xx

My twins started off in one cot and only put then into two when they got a bit bigger, but had them next to each other as this was the first time they didn't sleep in the same cot. They adjusted with in a few days.

My girls are still in the same cot- but are waking each other repeatedly all night long and now we have to separate them  it's breaking my heart!!!

decided to go with 2 but with slats so they are looking at each other. now just need to choose the cots :)

Mine have that, their cots are next to each other and in the mornings when I go into their room they are on all 4's babbling to each other through the bars, or my boy is standing looking over the bars reaching over to his sister. It's just the sweetest thing :)

We plan on putting ours (also due in Feb! with 2 boys) in the same cot with a separator.

My girls were always slept seperately, I preferred it that way. Never had moses baskets either just went straight into cots. My girls beds were together head to head and now they are together facing eachother.

That's what I was wondering about. How many people have had trouble with one baby waking up the other?
