Normally my LO sleeps 11.5 hours at night, and 2 hours after waking, goes down for a nap which can last anywhere from 90 mins to 2.5 hours.

We have always struggled with the 2nd nap. I've tried putting her down 3 hours after she wakes from the first, 4 hours, and 5, and neither seem to guarantee me a solid nap. I feel like its always hit and miss. The past few days, she's been waking up from it after 10 mins.

I know that many kids drop their 2nd nap close to the 1 year mark, but my LO is only 9.5 months old. :dohh:

Mine does the same thing as well...her 2nd nap (if she naps) is only like 20-30 min.

Sounds like she's trying to drop down to one nap. My LO dropped to one nap at about 9 months as well, yes it is early but some babies are ready.

If I were you I'd start gradually pushing her first nap back, by ten minutes every day, until it becomes a solid lunchtime nap. My LO has two hours from 12.30 until 2.30 every day, and has been having this nap since around 9 months.

Ciara went down to one nap around 10 months. Now has one nap starting around 11.30/12ish. Length varies from 1-2 hours, most common length being 1.5 hours. She's never been a big napper so it didn't surprise me her dropping to one so early
