Hi all - i have a general wondering:
Those of you who are either temping, monitoring cervical fluid, and/or monitoring cervical position:
How has it helped you in your ttc journey?

Dh and i are bd-ing every 2nd day for 2 weeks around the date that i estimate to o. I have a regular cycle of 24 or 25 days (due to ov pain i estimate ov on cd11 or cd12 every month with 14 day lp)
Would you recommend any of above techniques for someone like me?

Any and all responses would be appreciated

Dust to all:dust:

I monitor temps and CM and sometimes OPKs. My fertility specialist said not to but I like to know what's going on.

CM helps me to know when my fertile window is approaching. It means we can start having more frequent BD. DH and I try to BD every day in my fertile window.

Temping helps me to confirm that I've ovulated. However in the past I've had a rise in temps but blood tests have said I haven't ovulated so I'm not sure if they're always accurate.

I only do OPKs because I bought a whole heap for cheap. I seem to get a really short surge so unless I'm doing them frequently then I can miss it.

I have PCOS and sometimes these signs might not all line up. Sometimes my CM is fertile when I'm not going to O. Because of this, I try and use a few different methods.

If you're happy to BD that frequently during that time, it's likely you're going to catch the egg just as you would when you're tracking. I didn't track for the first few months but then I really wanted to try something new and feel like I had a bit of control in all of this madness.

Good luck to you.

I'm temping this month, and have in the past. It's great for getting a better idea when you O, as well as if you can expect af to arrive. I like having the warning and seeing my temp drop the day it comes. It's helped me, and also given me a narrow time of when I likely O. I temped for a few months before my last baby and it worked great. I've never done opk's or paid too much attention to cm, so I can only recommend temping! It's fun :)

I temp and do OPK's because my O day moves around a touch (3-4days) each month. I am also very OCD so I like to know when I am going to approach ovulation plus also confirming it did indeed happen. If you just use one method, it doesn't always prove to be accurate, so I enjoy the crosschecking that I get from using a few.
If you are bd'ing EOD through most of your cycle, I am thinking you may not need to do extra monitoring. At the very least, you could do it for a few cycles, learn your pattern and not need to do it again.
