Really love the name Rose as a first name, but with our surname (Lee), im bit concerned about people using the Cockney rhyming slang association and the gypsy association.

Is Rosa a good compromise? Although my aunt had a dog named Rosa for a number of years :/.

On a day to day would probably just refer to her as Rose. Another reason we'd like to use it is that dh nan just passed and her name was Rose Ella, should I just use Rose Ella and ignore the aforementioned associations?? TIA xx

I like all variations of rose and rosa etc. my daughter is called Rosalie she can shorten it to Rose/Rosie/Rosa or even lee when shes older if she likes. I think it sounds fine with your surname too as it won't often be used together really unless for something official. x

I think Rosa Lee sounds lovely abs I've also had a pet / baby name issue but as someone pointed out people give pets human names. So if you like it then use it.

Rosa Ella. Lee sounds lovely

I prefer Rose, and I'm not sure about Rosa Lee just because Rosalie an actual name... it just sort of sounds like one name as opposed to a first and a last name. But that might not bother you. :)

I like it :) its pretty, though i do prefer Rosalie x

Rosa Jade sound good together, but I'm not sure Rosa flows well with your surname x

I prefer Rosa than Rose. Rose names is like regular name, where as Rosa name looks unique and not frequently used name.

Thanks everyone, the Rosa Lee sounding like Rosalie isn't an issue for me, as I adore that name. It's one of the probs with our surname, it can make a lot of names sound like adverbs when said together(think that's the right word). Xx

I'm biased as I have an Isabella Rosa so I adore the name :)
