Hi all, what do you think of the name Evangeline, it's my fave name at the moment. i have never known anyone called Evangeline other than a character in Nanny McPhee

I think it's very pretty. I like it pronounced (ee VAN jeh leen) It is not my style for first names, but definitely something I would think about for a middle. I think it would make a very beautiful first name though.

Prefer Eva... or Angelina... They both seem "softer" to me than Evangeline

Love the name Eva, never really come across the name Evangelina but it's a very traditional pretty name

it's high on my list, I have always loved it. Would probably use Evie as a nickname, but Evangeline on the birth certificate.

It's beautiful and feminine. And rarely used. I've only ever heard it in reference to the Lost actress, Evangeline Lilly.

I first heard the name due to the actress in Lost who played Kate. It took me all the way through the series to get used to it!
I do think its very pretty and unusual and quite 'strong'
