OPK -- Need help Please

Ladies,
I am looking for your expertise.

I have used OPKs a few months through our LTTTC journey. I always Ovulated on day 18 (of a 31 day cycle). So I didnt feel the need to use them every month. Now I am very paranoid because I always had 2 lines on the OPK like I thought you were supposed to have.

This month I had the HSG test and I began using OPK's again. I am on day 15 and my OPK only has 1 line! Does it mean I am not going to Ov this month?
I am scared I should have used them every month....

I know I've had months where the second line of the OPK is so light its almost invisible and I still wind up ovulating - just some months later than others.
It could be a faulty test or did you maybe not, erm, "hold it" quite long enough? I turned my phone sideways and though I saw a hint of a line in the pic so maybe its just super faint. Sorry I couldn't be more help - best of luck to you!

I saw a very faint line. The whole OPK thing annoys me. Never once has the test line been the same colour or darker yet I have been shown to have ovulated.

Hi, Just wanted to share a top tip. I've been using CBFM for over 16 months and did not realise until now that it has been missing the peaks most months. I just learnt that the best time to test is between 1pm-3pm and not with the first urine of the day. This month I managed to catch the 'peak' using cheapies and then confirmed it with CB digitals BUT the CBFM did not pick it up with the digital - using the first urine of the day, or the day after. So my top tip is dtd every other day and use cheapie OPKs in the afternoon and when you see 2 lines of the same colour, confirm using a digital test... then dtd the day you see the peak and for the next 4 days - since ovulation can occur within 12-48hrs (or it could have already occured by the time the LH is picked up on your testing - so preferably dtd the day before the peak too!)

Thank you that is good info. . . I don't like any digital testes because they are generally not as sensitive. I did however use my FMU because I have a bladder the size of a pea and dont usually hold it the recommended 4 hours before hand.
I am going to try it next cycle if this cycle didn't work... I don't know though I am feeling a little hopeful it may be our month.

If you can't hold it, just drink only a little at breakfast time and then pee at around 9am then there will not be much left in the bladder for you to keep in till 1pm (also don't drink for a few hours). I find it easier to pee into a container and then dip in the test stick: 1) because it's easier to count the seconds that way and 2) even if you only have a little drop of urine, you can still test with it.
