Does anyone get out of breath really easily - even just relaxing I have to take some big breaths to fill up my lungs - is this normal.

Thanks again xx

I would say yes as im always out of breath and have to keep sitting down when im doing something and like you still out of breath then.x

ooo yes me i get outta breath lying down even i feel like my poor chest is being squashed Lol x

I was reading in my baby book the other day that with your uterus growing your lungs get squashed right up so it's harder to catch your breath. Totally normal! If you're lying down then try propping yourself up with pillows x

i asked the doctors at the hospital this question because i thought i was going to die lol but yeah apparently its perfectly normal

Thanks ladies - can't wait to get into thw swimming pool this afternoon - feel so much better when I do xx

I haven't had much of a problem with breathlessness, other than going up and down stairs. I'm still managing a couple of trips to the gym each week, doing 20 mins on treadmill (just brisk walking at an incline), 15 on bike and 15 on cross trainer. I have a really long torso though, so baby is not really able to reach my ribs/lungs whilst I'm standing up.

I'm finding that if I can get the energy to drag myself to the gym, i sleep TONS better afterwards.

Yeah it's where the baby is up high pushing on your diaphram, I have had it most of the pregnancy (well since he was big enough to get high) and was told it'll stop when he's engaged but he's engaged now and I still get it- hope this doesn't mean he's huge! x

Yes, and I found that my issue was dehydration. I wasn't drinking enough water throughout the day. It caused my bp to be low and my heart to race when I exerted myself at all. Maybe try drinking more?

Yes  I get this too and its horrible (Im asthmatic so it really makes me anxious) :hugs: x

Yep, I get it about twice a day I start to really pant, even though all I have done is shower and dress...but I guess the exertion causes me to be more tired than usual...it doesnt worry me but it is uncomfortable...I though I had a long torso, but the baby seems to like to kick my ribs a lot LMAO

Yes, these past few days have been particularly bad. I'm anaemic too which I expect doesnt help. I feel like I have to really concentrate on my breathing sometimes just to get enough oxygen! And this happens when I'm just sat on the sofa!

I find this possibly the worst part of pregnancy so far, its horrible, I cant breathe just sitting at the computer. I talked to the dr and she said to keep hydrated and I find that helps a lot!
Weird to think drinking a lot of water would help you breathe better but it does, when Im going out (I live in a little town so everything is far away) I make sure I dont drink as much because I need to make it for the car ride without peeing and I find its always worse.

totaly normal hun!! i was same its baby lying on your diaphram (sp) and squishing ur lungs... not to worry tho mine felt soooo much better when hes head engaged so it wont last for ages xx
