You are right: age is only a number and the one universal thing we have in common is we want our babies! I think the more we can 'lean' on each other a bit, to get through these roller coaster rides, the better....

I am 42, 43 in May. Had my fifth loss on Valentines day (still waiting for af), so I too am on the journey. Me just got to keep trying till a good egg is found
In the mean time I eat a very good diet, no booze, no caffienne etc.
I read/lurk lots, but post rarely.
Like the lottery, unless you do it you are not in with a chance, so one keeps wading through and accepting the garbage being thrown by life's fate so far

Im 39 dh is 41. Just halfway thru my fertility testing. Never had it done before. I never had kids, and I just want to find out WHY I CANT GET PREGNANT!!!!!

We been trying to concieve for about 2 years now and im approaching 40 in dec, and basically Im tired of seeing those negatives every month.

Hello! Just wanted to send some encouraging thoughts and positive vibes your way. I'm 38 and it took 8 months for us. Was getting discouraged too, went to a fertility clinic... but was pregnant already, just didn't know it ha. It will happen, just stay positive, try not to obsess over it (hard, very hard, I know all too well...) there's always adoption too!

Hi Like Twinkle i am 43 and will be giving up when i am 45.
I am 44 in Dec (28th) when yours Articbaby, us capricorns got to stick together !
and my OH is 46 all tests have come back brill and we have jsut been told to get on with it they see no reason why it wont happen so lets see .
We have been trying for 17months and have just had our 5th miscarriage ! huh but at least we know we can we jsut have to get the stickying it bit sorted now and then we are done ! Good luck to all you lovely 40 ish ladies come on girls lets show these younger counterparts that we can do it just as well as them !

In the UK when you get 3 misscariages you then get investigated to rule out common problems for embryo's not going any further, such as 'sticky blood'. We pass all tests too and told to keep going if we are happy too.

well then ttc buddies we are and i feel the same as you with doctors telling me i shouldnt even be trying at my age !! :O , and people looking at you funny who you thought were friends when you tell then we are trying its so good to get positive feedback from those the same age and in the same boat.

hi tina it is a real shame the world is so ignorant as to think we are past it once reach 40 and shud take up knitting and put feet, i am not skinny by any means but i know for a fact i had a far healthier pregnancy than girls half my age i met at antenatal clinic, plus i was a mum for 1st time when was 19 then last time 3yrs ago and i feel i am much better mum now thanks to financial stability and as you get older as well as grey hairs you also develop more tolerance.. any younger mums reading this please dont think this a pop at you because is most certainly not, i just wasnt that patient when i was younger. sorry digressed there anyhow like said had really good pregnancy tho did develop a little carpal tunnel but felt if that was the worst prob then woo hoo.. also had 4d scan at doc advice rather than have amnio, far less intrusive and well worth the expense for peace of mind..
