Do you like the name: Molly Gabriella? Does it flow well?

Why or why not?

How many Molly's do you know? How old are they? Do you think it's "too common"?

What perception do you have of a person/child named Molly? (What images does it evoke if you only "heard" the name and then were "picturing" the person?)

What spelling do you prefer of this name??

Is there any way to "tease" the name?

Sorry for so many questions!! OH said I over-analyze every name - which usually then bumps it off my list! :dohh:

I think Molly Gabriella is very pretty and flows well.
I know 2 Mollys, one is 11 and the other is in her 80's. Where I am it isn't common at all. I would picture a child called Molly as being sweet, kind and well behaved. I'm not sure how else it would be spelt but I like the spelling Molly. I can't think of any obvious ways to tease the name Molly.

I think it sounds nice. I Know 4 Molly/Mollie. 1 is 21, 1 is 8,one in my class at school so 5 and one at playgroup about 18mths. I don't know lots but I wouldnt say it was common or uncommon. I picture a dark haired girl x

Love Molly, I think it goes nicely with Gabriella. I know a A few, ages: 16,14, 6, 5. I'd use it if it didn't clash with our surname. I picture a very cute feminine curly/wavey haired little girl.

I live in Canada, I don't know of any Mollys. (And I'm a teacher so that should say something.) It's not very common here. I think its a cute name, and I prefer the spelling with a 'y'. It flows nicely with Gabriella as well :)

I only know of 1 molly I only really sort of know her mother. I think its a perfectly sweet name for a little girl. I would not pair it with Gabriella. mainly because Gabriella is such a big strong name it just doesnt seem to fit with a simpler name like Molly. I would say that Gabriella is not a good choice as a middle name. for me personally I prefer simpler middle names. For example my daughters middle names are Ann and June. I think I am just not a fan of long middle names lol.
I guess what im trying to say is a name like Gabriella really needs to shine on its own not used as a middle name. but thats just me. I don't think its a bad choice just not what I would go for.

the thing that pops to mind with Molly is iv known a few horses with this name, BUT usually there is always someone who knows an animal with the name,

hope this helps lol

I'm not sure. I love Molly but Gabriella doesn't seem the same style to me, so doesn't fit too well. I would expect Molly to be with a more classic middle name, such as Elizabeth or Violet.

Sound-wise it's totally fine!

There are no ways I can think of to tease the name. I don't know of any Mollys, apart from my beloved childhood dog :( I like the spelling Molly but Mollie is okay too.

Thanks girls! All positive feedback, which is good. From my internet research the most negative association is that it's a "dog name" - many dogs are named Molly. From your responses you seem to know animals with the name too, and I named a dog Molly once when I was like 10. We only ended up having the dog about 1 month though. It's been one of my fav names since I was little. Apparently it's also a nickname for the drug ecstasy. It's still a top contender for me though!

I know loads of dogs called Ruby (my daughters name) but its never been negative :)

I like Molly Gabriella!

I've known 3 Molly's and they are all currently high-school aged (I'm a teacher so I know lots of kids... I know no Molly's in my personal life).

I imagine a sweet girl, maybe on the quiet side, well-liked and good in school.

Definitely spell it Molly.

My only negative association in terms of teasing is the drug, since that's in the news so much right now. But these fad drugs (and their associated lingo) generally only last a few years, so I bet it won't be an issue by the time she's old enough to associate with people who know what it is.

I like the name Molly, and I think it flows well with the middle name Gabriela. My preference is for a single "L" in Gabriela, but that shouldn't influence you in the least :)

I know only one Molly, very slightly, through her aunt. She's four years old and a Shirley Temple lookalike. I imagine a child with that name would be well-behaved but determined with curly dark hair.

I know one dog with the name too, though I didn't remember that until an earlier post prompted it.

I think Molly is a beautiful name. Not sure I'd pair it with Gabriella, but I love both names individually. D

I only know one Molly, and she is around 15. I agree with the previous poster that stated that they didn't feel Gabriella was the same style of name as Molly. They don't jive in my mind. Molly is a cute name, but immediately the current association with drugs came to mind and for that reason alone it wouldn't make my list.

Yeah, Molly is slang for pure MDMA now, but how long will that really last? And it's not like you are naming her Tang or something that is a pure product name - Molly is a human name that has been around a long time.

Honestly, it doesn't really matter if Molly and Gabriella flow together if her middle name isn't used every day. For a middle name- pick something that you like or something that means something to you.
