Atleast you have a date for your induction! They are letting me go 14 days over so no doubt i will end up with my induction sometime around the middle of August! :growlmad:

MY oh admitted he was scared lastnight it's the first time he has ever said it.

He turned around in bed lastnight and said !what will he eat" obviously i replied and said "milk for a fair few months then he gets lovely mushy stuff the lucky thing" OH then turned round and went "i honestly don't have a clue what to do and am scared i'll do it wrong" i couldn't help but just turn around and smile at him and tell him that i was a bit scared to and aslong as he didn't try and feed the baby steak at 3 days old or put his nappy on backwards/inside out then he's be fine as no one really knows what they are doing and it's all guess work. It was so cute hearing him say some of the stuff and now i can't wait for him to finally be here just to see the look on my OH's face when he realises that he can actually do it and it's not rcket science. I'm so proud of him already

:happydance: for induction date Twiglet!!!! Don't worry, you'll be fine.

My OH admitted he was a bit scared last night too - just about having this little baby to look after. I told him I was scared too.

I have had no signs whatsoever. I'm hoping the midwife offers me a sweep tomorrow... last week I thought "oh, I'll just wait until labour starts naturally, none of that sweep business for me." Now -- BRING IT ON! It doesn't help that we are in a record-breaking heat wave here. Bastages.

Don't want to join this group (no offense ladies!!) but I guess I must seeing as he's 2 days late so far...

No pains, nothing so I reckon i too am in it for the long haul

Was at midwife Monday and he was only 1/5 engaged - she's going to do sweep Wednewday of next week...

I'm sure I read somewhere that the less fifths they are the better, I think that means 1/5 of his head ISN'T in the pelvis, so it's quite good hon. Could be wrong tho.....off to google.

Ok I've googled it - if she said he is 1/5 engaged, that means only one fifth is in yr pelvis....BUT if she said/wrote 1/5 palpable, that means only one fifth is out of yr pelvis.

Elliebank has had her baby!

I haven't... Boo. Had a sweep yesterday and nothing yet. Boo.

i havent had mine either lol, this engaged thing, in my notes it says 2/5 is deeply engaged, 1/5 is completely/deeply engaged

im hopin thats the case anyway since it says im 2/5 lol

can we ask the august mummys to wait till we're done before havin any more {sigh} lol

congratz Ellie :D

The September mums are starting already!

The cub has 2/5 of its head engaged, 3/5 free.

I agree with sezzlebum!! It's just not fair! :sulk: Tell them to wait their turn! lol

Soo.. I had my first sweep this afternoon and it was horrible :( The midwife could only get one finger in my cervix, so I have to go again on Sunday for another as she doesn't think this one did anything. :hissy: Annd to top it off, babe is back to back (though i knew that already) annnd she didn't think that she was engaged at all, but then got another midwife in and she is engaged a bit.. phew!

Plus I'm still incredibly itchy!! OH is at work so I'm home alone, so it's scratch scratch scratch till he comes home and I get the 'I told you not to, it's your own fault' speech when I complain I hurt. :dohh: oops!

Sorry girls, I'm in a bit of a foul/ complainy mood today. Though, my OH did buy me TWO new pairs of slippers and chocolate after my sweep to cheer me up

Aw... Husband was very sympathetic with mine. He was in the room but behind the curtain and he was more traumatised than me I think! She only got one finger in with me, too.

Mine hasn't worked either, and I have to wait until next Thursday for another one. My induction date is 2 days after that so I bloody hope something happens by then!

Aw that was good at least! My OH was there through mine too, though he was in the room with me holding my hands and stuff, bless himmm.. he can be a sweetie haha. Bummm seems like we're similar situations then!!! Hop it all goes well for you on thursday then! Or even that your babe decides to make a move before then! I'm hoping the sweep will work on Sunday, if i have to be induced then I can't have her at the midwife centre and I'm dead set on having her there. She has to come soon... she's getting too big to be in there anymore! I feel like my skin is going to rip apart completely!!! :(

I'm still quite small really - not much bigger than my avatar which was 36 weeks. But the fundus has grown each week etc.

I has a show last night but nothing else since. Come on baby!!! It's August now, you're supposed to be a July baby!

You are quite small then! My belly seems to stick out tons! God it's gonna be weird seeing my feet again!! hahaha

That's what I was telling my lil'un the other day! It seems any overdue july babies will now be august ones! Lazy little things! We're obviously far too cosy mummys!

Well today I can join you ladies, as a 31st july baby is now going to be an august baby! I must be sooooo comfy inside!
At midwifes on thursday baby still wasnt engaged, I haven't had any show or other signs, so who knows when this LO will make an appearance!

I'm unsure as whether I've had a show... and I'm 8 days over, so I'm in a similar position to you bjl1981! Midwife didn't reckon mine was engaged the other day either, but another midwife said she was but not fully. I mean c'moooonnnn! When will these july babies make a move!
