Ovulation on cycle

Hi all. My cycle seems to be 22 days and when I use an ovulation calculator to ovulate it seems to show I ovulate on day 6-10. I am due to go for a blood test to check I ovulating ok but my Dr said to go when I 14 days, however if I ovulate on the day 6-10 should'nt I be going then?? Any help??
