Ovulation spotting and timing of O.

I'm currently on CD39 and don't know if I ovulated or not, though I've been having a LOT of post-ovulation/PMS symptoms for about a week and a half. I took an HPT on day 30 and it was negative. My question is, I had very, very light brown spotting on and off from days 19-23. If it were ovulation spotting, does ovulation usually occur during it or how shortly afterward does it usually happen? Could it occur even 5-7 days after spotting, or is that unusual? Of course I can't be certain if it was just random mid-cycle spotting, either; I don't normally have many cycles at all on my own. At first I thought I might have had an early ovulation and it was implantation, but I imagine an HPT would most likely have been positive by day 30 in that case...

Hey it might have been ovulation spotting. For me and I think a lot of others it would happen after the bleeding. The amount and pattern is different for everyone so it's hard to say. Have you noticed when your EWCM started drying up? If you have happened to ovulate on CD25 for example you should be getting AF anytime soon now. If no AF in like 3 days maybe you can take a pregnancy test. Good luck! Hope it's a positive.

I'm hoping if it happened after the bleeding it waited a few days... because I just kept thinking I was about to start an early period, so after day 18 we didn't get around to BDing until about day 26 :-/. But it would still be great if I ovulated at all!

Aww I hope you caught the egg though. Have you considered temping since you have irregular cycles? Temping can be stressful. On the other hand you can try to BD at least once every 2-3 days without temping.

I temped for a while after coming off the pill with no confirmed ovulation, and then temped for 4 cycles on Clomid also with no ovulation, so I gave up on it because it just got kind of depressing as well as stressful. This cycle was my "in-between specialists cycle," and I was kind of hoping that the medications from last cycle (first O in two years!) might've kicked start me to have one on my own. I'm possibly being far too optimistic, though... I guess we'll see!

I've read a lot of people coming off the pill took Vitex and it made them ovulate. It's all natural so if it doesn't help you its not going to harm you. I just got Vitex from GNC today going to start tomorrow. Hoping to move my O date earlier than CD21.
