if you do an ovulation stick and its nearly the same colour, does that mean you either have or are going to ovulate, or does it mean nothing?

When you get a positive you should ovulate 12-24 hours after that.

Is it the same colour, darker or lighter than the control line?

Some months I'll get a line that's almost as dark the day before I get a true positive. For me, a positive test always has a noticeably darker line but as long as it's the same or darker it's positive.
I don't always have the line fading in though. Some months there is no line one day and a really dark line the next so it might not mean you're going to get a positive tomorrow.

I'd say get busy just in case ;)
