Hey ladies, I'm jumping over from the second trimester to take a peek into your brains :p What would you suggest for mummy marks? Palmer's or Bio Oil??

Palmers fragrance free. 28 weeks with twins measuring 43 and no hideous lines in sight yet! x

Personally i prefer Palmers...... Bio oil leaves you feeling really slippy/oily and i cant stand that feeling where as palmers absorbs alot quicker.
Ive used palmers through both my pregnacies and i only have 1 stretchmark where my belly button bar was kept in too long with my 1st pregnancy x

straight natural almond oil from the pharmacy :flower:

^ Yeh thats meant to be good , Or coconut oil ..... Ive used a coconut oil based moisturiser cream and not only is it really nice for you skin .... It smells amazing! :)

Sorry measuring 42. I'm all for the oils I just can't stand the smell of them atm!

I liked bio oil although i didn't know there was fragrance free palmers or I would have tried that. Original palmers smells terrible. Lx

I've just used whatever body butter I've had at home, usually just a cheap cocoa butter- no stretchies so far! I've never used bio oil myself but everyone seems to say its VERY oily!x

I used a bio oil rip of brand (regen oil or something) and then switched to palmers cocoa butter. Prefer palmers as it doesn't leave oily marks all over my cabinet and it soaks in faster than oil.

Second pregnancy and with both just used whatever normal body moisturiser I had to hand and no stretchies with first and, so far, none with second. Remember to drink lots of water, too, to keep skin hydrated.

Cool thanks for the tips!! Although I have to say I'm surprised so many people don't like the smell of Palmers, I think it smells like the most delicious cocoa candy.

I used Palmer's Cocoa Butter for Stretch Marks twice a day from conception to 24 weeks.
I have since used Bio Oil twice a day from 24 weeks onwards.

Unfortunately, I have still gotten stretch marks :(
Lots on my breasts, some on my bump, and a few on my hips.

If you're gonna get stretchies, you will get them, whatever creams/oils you use :nope:

I'm using Palmers in the jar as it has the highest concentration of cocoa in it compared to their lotions. The smell of it always makes me think I'm going to end up a giant chocolate bar by the time this is all over.

Weeks 15-22 applied once a day.
Weeks 23-27 twice a day.
Weeks 28 - present three times a day or whenever my tummy feels dry or like it might be getting itchy anywhere.

So far no streach marks on my tummy...the few I had on my hips prior to pregnancy have not increased as I've been applying to them as well....Hoping this regime works. :winkwink:

This is true unfortuantly .... wether you get stretchies or not is down to the elasticity of your skin, all the creams etc can do is help to moisturise the skin and hopefully prevent the marks being as bad, but if your gonna get them ..... your gonna get them

Some people say ask your mum.... if she got stretchmarks then you will too .... i didnt find this the case as my mum had 2 children and not a single stretchmark yet i got 1 on my belly from my belly bar and some light ones on my boobs.

yeah i have used coco butter and still got stretch marks on my breasts, bump and hips,xx

Having now experienced both, i would HIGHLY RECOMMEND Palmers. Absolutely lovely cream and smells good and feels good and well its lucky i don't eat the stuff! :)

i use both, whilst i find bio more effective i hate the feel of it so alternate between palmers and boi x

I've been mixing Palmer's with Vitamin E oil. 35 weeks and so far no marks! The first brand of Vitamin E oil I got was so thick I couldn't spread it, so that's why I mixed it. I'm using a different brand now and it's much thinner and easier to rub in. Doesn't smell either- in fact, the Palmer's smells worse.

I was told that the older you are, the more elastic your skin is and is therefore less likely to stretch. I'm 37 and have been using baby oil since day one (also, since I became pregnant the smell of coconut has been too overpowering)... No stretch marks and 33 weeks gone!!! :) x

I used both as well and didn't get any

I liked the smell of Asda's maternity stretch mark oil too and as it was so cheap I used a ton of it.
