What's the soonest you've ever "just known" you were pregnant, in terms of DPO? Logically, I know that that 37% of women implant 8-10 dpo, but similarly, nearly two-thirds implant sooner or later than that. One source said it could happen as early as 3 dpo or as late as 12 dpo. And apparently, a fertilized egg releases certain proteins which some women may be sensitive to, resulting in symptoms before implantation actually occurs. I've known women who swore they knew shortly after DTD (from the moment the "zinc fireworks" occur), to those who knew 3 dpo, to those that knew within the standard timeframe, and just as many who had no idea until they got a BFP on a HPT after being late!

So, tell me your stories! :) I'd love to hear about the varied experiences.

First 4 children I had no idea about dpo etc just knew I was late. Last 3 all 9 dpo. I would really love to know where you read about positive tests at 3 dpo as anything I have read on the matter would suggest this was impossible and that anything before 8 dpo would worryingly suggest ectopic pregnancy.

I actually read the 3-12 dpo estimate here. I've heard elsewhere that 4 dpo is not outside the realm of possibility, although 7-10 is widely regarded as the more average timeframe, with other sources further narrowing it to 8-10 dpo. Some sources indicate that the percentage of women who fall between 8-10 dpo is greater than 37% (even going so far as to estimate that 40% implant specifically at 9dpo). It seems every medical professional has a different opinion on the matter.

Some women even become pregnant during AF, so the body can be sort of unpredictable, even though most women fall between the norms!

I've heard so many different "I knew when..." stories at so many varied DPOs that I thought it would be interesting to poll a broader audience. :) It's interesting how different this whole experience can be for each individual!

It takes 6-12 days for a fertilised egg to travel down the fallopian tubes and implant in the womb. Vital cell changes happen during this time. After that it takes a day or two for hormones to build up to show on a hpt anyone who thinks they have gotten a positive pregnancy test at 3dpo is mistaken and have their dates wrong is scientifically impossible and can't be compared to ovulating during af

I don't think anyone has claimed to have a positive hpt at 3dpo ... Even if implantation BEGAN at 3dpo, it can take a while to complete, and then a few days before hcg reaches measurable levels. I think the claim is that there is some indication that the process of implantation may begin outside the realm of what is typically considered average in a controlled setting. Without having read the studies (which, of course, nobody ever cites when claiming lower-day statistics ...) there's no way for me to know the specifics of the details of the studies involved (laboratory? mice? human studies? when? how did they determine ovulation? how did they determine implantation, specifically? how large was the test group? how diverse? etc.)

I'm not asking at all when women got a positive HPT ... that is typically pretty set in stone, for the most part ... but rather when women have that instinct telling them that they're going to experience some level of success! A recent study indicates that some women may detect the zinc release of fertilization, others the protein releases of the fertilized egg as it makes its travels, some get nothing at all (which seems to be the norm) until much later. (Some get morning sickness the day they implant, others don't get it for a few weeks, some never get it at all. Everyone is different.)

Whew sorry you're not getting the answers you intended dill lol. I hear ya. I personally didn't "know" until later both times. Probably around 13dpo. I wish I had that feeling earlier: but I just try not to overthink it :)

Haha, thanks! I wasn't trying to start a war! I just enjoy hearing stories of when women "knew" instinctively that something was going on, and how. It's really interesting to me! :)

I'm not sure EXACTLY when I knew with my last two. I think it was somewhere around 7-8 dpo with the last (positive hpt 12dpo), and the one before last, it's hard to say because I got pregnant with my IUD in and didn't even know until I MC'd a month and a half after removal. I'd had mild symptoms a week or two before removal, but chalked it up to stress, and the symptoms after, I thought I was suffering from pretty much the worst-ever case of Mirena crash. So who knows? (I definitely wasn't tracking my cycle, then, because I was not expecting in the least to become pregnant.)

Sorry for misreading what you were saying.

No worries, sorry for the upset!

No Upset just my silly brain unable to process simple English. But to answer your original question I would get an inkling by cramping. If I'm not cramping in the 2 ww then I know I haven't been successful.

The earliest I knew was 10dpo, for my last pregnancy, I felt implantation then.

BUT I had a friend who visited us last year. She and her ex-boyfriend had slept together on thursday night, and I want to say she arrived on Sunday. She started talking to us that day about how she just felt different (sore boobs especially but other stuff too), and she thought she might be pregnant because the ONE time the slept together had been during her window. I told her she was crazy and just making stuff up in her head. It went on all week like that and she took a test the following Monday and it was negative. Then she went on vacation, and after AF didn't show during the trip she took another test and it was positive! I nearly fell over when she told me. Too crazy. Also, this was her first pregnancy so no chance she recognized any symptoms from before. So, I guess some people really just know!!

Honestly with my 1st pregnacy I had no idea I was even pregant till 12 weeks because I had bleeding in early pregnacy so my body was all messed up and I was floored to find out I was pregnant. Then 2 & 3 I had a feeling around 11 DPO like I just felt off and I suffer from horrible dry heeving during early pregnacy so that was a massive tip off for me.
With my last 2 I found out very very early and actually with my last one I found out as soon as the sperm met the egg as my doctor puts it but I also had issues and my pregnacy was Ovarian.
My mom didn't know with any of her pregnacys till 8 weeks because she is one of those women who "bleed" during early pregnancy so she was always surprised.

I ovulated on CD16 or 17, and my boobs started becoming sore 2 days later but I used to get that before AF. On CD 22 I got a weird burning/tingling feeling in my boobs, and the next day a throbbing sensation. (These symptoms lasted pretty much till my miscarriage.) However I only "knew" I was pregnant around CD 27, so 10 or 11 DPO. I just felt different although I had no other symptoms except for those odd sensations in my boobs and exhaustion starting a few days before my BFP. I did wait till CD 33 to test though.

A friend claims she knew straight after DTD! It was their first month TTC, they did it only once on ovulation day that week (she had very regular cycles) and she called her DH at work the next day to tell him she was pregnant.

With my son I did the deed the third and by the 10 I was so sick I went to the er thinking it was my appendix and nope I was pregnant so early they couldn't see it on the transvaginal ultra sound. They had me come in every to days to track NY hcg levels by blood until it was high enough to see something and bingo there he was.

With three of my pregnancies I started to get an idea when my af was due. I was trying to get pregnant ofollowingonly by not using bc rather than following ovulation. My last pregnancy (which resulted in a mmc) I knew 1dpo. I felt a humming in my stomach and I just knew. My bfp arrived 9dpo in the afternoon. I was using opks so was I tune with my cycle too though whereas before I hadn't been taking any notice.
