I gave birth on June 22 and had an episiotomy. The healing process has been horrible since the stitches ripped. Well of course I had the regular bleeding after birth and at around 3 weeks after birth, the blood flow turned to just a very light spotting of a yellowish discharge which I read was normal. Well now the flow has gotten very heavy with bright red blood and I have been passing very large clots about twice a day usually at night. Is this normal?

I was told by the hospital that clots are possible but only ok if they are no bigger than a 50 pence piece. I would of expected you to pass them whilst still bleeding after birth though really. Maybe give baycall a ring for some advice ( thats if your in the UK!) x

I thought so too- that I would've passed it early on. But now it's a month after and I first passed one the size of my fist and other smaller ones. There is no pain associated either.

I had this as well, were you more active than normal?
