I was diagnosed in 2009 with PCOS. That has been the biggest disappointment of my life. I wouldn't wish it on anyone. I was put on Metformin and put back on BCP right after I got married. I couldn't tolerate the Metformin because when I was a kid, I had a kidney condition that done mild, not much, damage to my kidneys. Metformin is hard on your kidneys so they took me off of it. I had to be taken off of my BCP because of a superficial blood clot. Sometimes I have a period, sometimes I don't. It's just the luck of the draw I guess. Recently went to my doc and I told her we were wanting to conceive. We did blood work and she told me that Metformin for one month wouldn't hurt my kidneys as it would if I took it a lifetime. So I am in the middle of taking it, hopefully that's all I need. If it doesn't I already called my RE who said the next step would probably be Femara. Has anyone taken it with good results?
I'm 28. My mom had 4 (would've been 5 but she miscarried 1) babies by the time she was my age now. I want to give my parents their first grandbaby so bad. My friends all have kids and/or pregnant right. I see pregnant women everywhere and it kills me. It's like I'm all alone and no one knows how I feel.

I was diagnosed with PCOS in June of this year, after suspecting it for 5 and no one listening! If you do very in-depth research, you will see that all of the "traditional" medications for it are actually quit horrible and just mask the symptoms, not make it better.

I started going to a naturopath. She knows that I am on a tight budget, and the first thing she had me do what flaxseed. Flaxseed completely regulates your hormones and helps them become back in balance. I take 2-3 tbls a day. You can put it on anything, in salad dressing, in eggs, in a shake, whatever you want!

She recommended the ground ones because they are easier to mix and don't have a texture. I, on accident, got the actual seed but just ground them in my blender. They are a bit nutty, but not bad at all.

I also was making Maca Root. Many argue if it is good for you or not, but it worked miracles for me! The first month I took it, it brought on my period. It was a 5 day, light-heavy-light cycle. It came the exact same day the following few months. I had more energy, my anxiety went down, and felt like my body was in a better state over all.

We have been trying for over a year. My fiancée has a vericous veins in his testicals, which make it harder to conceive, and I didn't know I had an ongoing thing. He to was taking the maca root with me, just for support. This month, we have news that I am pregnant for the 5th time! :happydance: Praying to god that this one carries to full-term! (All the others ended in miscarriage around 6weeks):nope:

I know how hard it can be, it effected me for a long time knowing I could possibly not have children. Then I started meeting multiple woman that have PCOS and have multiple kids that are healthy. I started having hope, and here I am today!

Don't give up! If you ever need anyone to talk to, I am here for you! Don't be afraid, I know that a lot of the times its easier to have someone to talk to who has PCOS and can understand what you are going through!:)
