the only advice i can give is keep looseing the weight hun, i went on the scales this morning and ive put a stone on im gutted but im bk on my diet now, looseing weight will help it xx

Thank you :) ahh really, its a nightmare trying to lose but so easy to put on, keep up the good work xx

it is and its annoying too but hey i shouldnt of ate all the pies lol xxx

Hey I agree with lewood, I have PCOS too and when I am eating healthy and loosing weight is when I feel the best, I don't know if I will ever be skinny again but I know that when I am doing my special diet (given to me by a professional nutritionist that specializes in diabetes and insuline problems) I feel the best, I have more energy and I can clearly notice difference. I guess this has to help with the TTC because you feel and are healthier.

I'm also struggling with weight, I'm not very overweight but could afford to lose about 10kg. I think coming off the pill has affected my weight the most, I seem to have ballooned!

One day at a time is what keeps me going, it's also knowing that even though I have one slip up, it doesn't mean my diet is ruined.

Also, slightly off topic, but did you know that it is thought to be genetically favourable to have PCOS? Back in the days of famine, normal women would lose so much weight that they weren't able to have children as they stopped ovulating, but PCOS women had more weight on them, so the ones that did ovulate, continued to do so! A bit of trivia, but it's good to know! Just a shame that we have so much food available to us now!

yeah def stay on track of trying to lose weight. stay away from carbs if u can and eat lots if veggies. the doctor night even give u metformin to help with insulin resistence and that will help with your weight loss journey and will help regulate your cycle. or they might give u clomid to help u ovulate. either way having this isn't the bad part at least they know what they are dealing with now and can treat what they need to!

thank you all, i have 2 stone to lose then they can give me clomid, hopefully with losing i will start ovulating on my own :) thank you for all your support xx

I have a ton to lose too! I'm somewhat trying but its hard. I have a lot going on and food has been my comfort! I really need to lay off the carbs though!
I will be your cheerleader! good luck!!!

Its great trying to keep a healthy weight but PCOS is not only in heavy set women. My friend is maybe 120 pounds soaking wet and she has PCOS and had to have help getting pregnant with her first child and now is 5 months pregnant with her second..also needed help. I am on the other hand considered overweight and I dont have PCOS. I have a problem with my follies maturing all the way so 50 mg clomid is all i need to ovulate. Good luck in your ttc journey..even with weight lose it may or may not help..i hope your doctors dont keep you waiting to actually help you. :hugs:

i am getting bloods done on the 27th for all hormones, thyroid and progesterone so i will see what they say, they can give me clomid but i need to lose wight first. I had a psychic last night and one of the first things she said to me was you have pcos, i was in shock as i only found out myself on Monday, i said yes, she said yes your gran was with you :) she then proceeded to tell me that this time next year i will have a baby, next christmas will be its first, she asked me about twins, a joke my gran used to always say to me as its supposed to skip a generation which would be me, she said your gran says it might be twins but she is laughing, dont know what to make of all of this lol xx

glad you're getting all the blood work done. I'm really surprised they are worried about your weight. I mean there are a ton of people who are overweight and pregnant! I mean its def better to be healthy but idk.
hopefully the psychic will be right! everyone I've told that we are ttc have mentioned twins and then I got put on clomid which increases your chance up to 10% I was like oh crap LOL twins don't run in my family so its funny everyone has mentioned them!
anyway go and hopefully you can start the meds soon so you can get your bfp!

Hi all

I have pcos but am slim. I'm pretty sure I have some insulin resistance though & so have just started taking inositol supplements. If you google pcos & inositol, loads of really positive info comes up about it's effect on insulin resistance (which could be one of the reasons some women are overweight with pcos) and fertility in pcos. Some of the medical studies even say its more effective than metformin.

I started it on Friday & so far haven't got much to report but I thought it might be of interest. Oh & it's just a vitamin btw so no side effects really reported. I'm on 1850mg a day right now & I'm feeling just fine :flower:
