This afternoon, after meeting up with my family doctor, I was diagnosed with PCOS.

She won't prescribe Metformin as I'm not obese and my blood sugar is normal. Instead she is placing me on urgent call-list for the local fertility clinic in my area to see if they can get started with me.

Feeling devastated. Feeling hopelessly inadequate. Promptly came home and cried. We have been trying since April 2013 without any luck. My cycle seems to keep getting longer and longer.

Now it's a waiting game...a horrible, anxiety-filled waiting game.

:hugs:

I know how you're feeling right now. The good thing is, things are now rolling in terms of the fertility specialist, and the first thing you'll likely get started on is clomid. Clomid worked wonders for me the first cycle, and has me ovulating again now.

I'm here if you want to talk at all! Fellow PCOS sufferer. :flower:

whigfield is right! This isn't the end - just the beginning! My dr suspected pcos last January and the FS confirmed it in May. Yes, it is a shock and can be devastating when you find out. I felt the same way. But you're going to start making progress now! Clomid has got me ovulating like clockwork now...right around cd18. Before that my cycles were like 60 days! :happydance:

You can do this!!!! :hugs:

i understand what you mean, the waiting is nerve wrecking, and at least in my experience all the opt testing and temping did not really help , as the cycles are all over the place.

however. i did manage to get pregnant naturally. it might all be in my head but healthy eating (low carb, even if you think your blood sugar is ok, you might have some metabolic resistance -meaning you dont metabolize sugar all that great but not as bad as a diabetic person-), avoiding stress and spending time in nature might help you to feel in control of yourself. it helped me a lot.

today my gyn. prescribed me clomid, for 3 cycles. now waiting for a cycle...last one was in august...

Im not obese and my blood sugar is normal, I was put on metformin 2000mg a day (I eventually took myself if it due to spending to many hours a day on the loo)

For the ladies who have taken the clomid how fast did it work for you to get pregnant. I am on my first cycle. I believe just had my first big o. Now I am about to start my tww. Any BFP on first try on clomid.

And to be honest this is my first time on clomid been tcc naturally for 2 years now. And I am finally ovulating for the first time. I have suffered from PCOS for 6 years now.

I have faith that this is meant to happen for me.
Baby dust your way. <3

Hl,
I've got pcos. I found out at 16. Long time ago now.
We're ttc no2- this is just the start, it's extremely good that they have sent you over to fertility clinic. I'm there too. Starting puregon as soon as period starts.
They will most likely start you on clomid before metformin (did in my case)

They can do wonders now. Keep your chin up Hun and wishing you good luck.

Im Here if you need a friend to talk too.x
Good luck

Im currently at the end of my 3rd round at 50mg will do abother 3 rounds at 50mg due to my progesterone results (cd21 bloods) being 60+

I have been on clomid three times. Only once was anovulatory, but each of the other two times I have fallen pregnant. One of those times is now. :flower:

Thanks for all the support! I called the fertility clinic I was referred to, there is a wait but here's hoping it won't be too much longer than 2 months.

Thanks for sharing your experiences regarding Clomid. It's definitely something I've never tried before, and so I'm interested in hearing how it went for others.

I'm going to try cutting back sugars, and maybe some carbs (I love them). We'll see. Hopefully I'll conceive naturally but I'm not as down-trodden as before. It could be worse, right?
