Hi ladies :hi:

Me and my OH aren't not trying to conceive but not preventing it either at the moment, so it would be a lovely surprise if it did happen. However I suffer with PCOS and at the moment weight gain :(:(:(

With my first son it took around 2-3 years to finally conceive with the help of letrozole, hcg trigger shots and metformin, so I don't think it will happen naturally anyway :( It would be nice to talk with other ladies with PCOS as I did previously when I was having my son, I found the forum here very useful and supportive and there are lovely ladies on here too, just seems very quiet these days!

Would be great to chat soon :D:D

I dont have PCOS, but wanted to wish you luck. I've been TTC for 3 years, so I know how long it can take

Thank you for all your replies :):)

@Nixnax I had my little boy through fertility treatment but all in total took around 2 and a half years.

It gets me down because I know without the treatment I wont get pregnant, makes me feel pretty useless and worthless as a woman I cant conceive alone. But because we are currently living in separate homes we are in process of getting a home together first but we wont be preventing it from happening either.

Can you recommend any good threads I can join in with please?? Seems a bit quieter on here these days since I was last here 4 years ago.

Yeah the LTTTC thread is pretty quiet these days. Most people chatter in the trying to conceive or two week wait area.

Maybe its just that area of the forum then that's gone quiet? :(

I will have to take a look on the TTC threads then, hopefully there are other ladies in there who are in similar situation or have PCOS. Thanks for the help ladies!

Hi I have PCOS too. Managed to conceive my first child 10 years ago with metformin. Trying for my second now and ttc is taking over my life!

If you ever need to chat or vent I’m with you!

pcos here as well. I've got an almost 3 year old from ivf and, like you, won't be able to have another naturally but I'm definitely not trying to not have one. In total we've done two egg retrievals and seven rounds of ivf and I don't really think we have it in us financially (or sanity wise for myself) to do another so here we are. We've been trying but not trying since our little one was six months. I'm always on here, lurking, I just forget to check into the other areas.

It took several years of TTC before I was diagnosed with PCOS. I had always known something wasn’t right and shrugged off by other Obgyn’s. I took my temperature every day, used opk’s...basically tracked everything. I never had a positive opk and I rarely had a period. I finally found an obgyn who believed me and did testing. She referred me to an endocrinologist who confirmed my PCOS and put me on metformin then referred me to a fertility doctor. They found cysts all over my ovaries and I wasn’t ovulating. They put me on femara and did a monitored cycle. I got pregnant with my first baby girl. I never went on birth control as we knew we wanted a second. Same thing happened as the first time I was TTC. No positive opk’s, long cycles, and charts could never pinpoint ovulation. I talked to my obgyn and they agreed to prescribe femara and just do bloodwork to confirm if I ovulated. After 3 annovulatory cycles, I finally ovulated and got pregnant with my second daughter. It was a hard pregnancy and I decided I didn’t want to do treatments again. My cycles have been all over the place since I had her 2 years ago. I have only had a handful of periods. In May I found out I conceived naturally. I hadn’t had a period since the beginning of March and didn’t think anything of it since it’s normal to not have a period for months. I see a PCOS specialist and it’s been very helpful. I haven’t been able to do the treatments because I’ve been breastfeeding or TTC. A lot of people only think PCOS affects getting pregnant, but there are many other issues that we deal with outside of that. I have hormonal swings, bad skin, trouble with my weight, fatigue, hair growth, etc.

We have been trying off and on for 7 years. It is incredibly frustrating. We took a few year break to focus on us but now we are back on it. I have PCOS & weight gain as well.

Come join over in the testing threads in the two week wait section! They are quite active. I’ve been ttc number one for nearly 2 years now. I don’t have pcos that I know of, but this was my first cycle trying with progesterone (bfn at 13 dpo). If it doesn’t help they will move me on to Femara in April.
