Me and a friend were messaging eachother on facebook last night, He asked what I was doing and I said just at the hospital blah blah. Messages carried on today and I said Oh btw, Everything was fine with Jaydon. Just a scare. He replied "Don't call ur kid jaydon please, when he goes school there will be about 6 other people with same name its not cool have something unique."

How fucking rude. I then said, "Thanks for that. But i named my child 5 months ago so its not about to change.". He then said "Seriously lol no offence but its boring and predictable don't be harsh on the kid."

It REALLY annoyed me. I like the name Jaydon. Common or not common. I don't really care what anyone else thinks because he's my son not theirs. And this guys son is called JOSH! Is that not more common than Jaydon? I don't mind the name Josh, I like it actually. But come on, hardley the most 'unique' name!

I'm probably being a bit hormonal. But I'd really rather people didn't give opinions on baby names. No one wants to hear that you don't like their childs name and anyone elses input on the name isn't really necessary as far as I'm concerned. Ok.. Rant over.

I dont think Jaydon is comon at all if you had decided on Jordon then yeah maybe but Jaydon isint and i dont think you will find alot of kids called Jaydon when hes in school your the only one i've seen who plans to call their baby Jaydon so eff him!! (I dont like name the name Josh personally but there was only 1 Josh in our year at school and just one Jordan too and no Jaydon's at all in any of the school either but that was a good few years ago now lol x)

You're right to be pissed off. It's totally rude when people give their opinion on the name you have already chosen.

We're not telling friends our names, because we don't want to hear any negativity. Once the baby is here and we introduce it as XX, we figure nobody would be rude enough to give their opinion if it's a negative one.

When you're throwing name ideas around and asking for an opinion, that's different, but as you've settled on your son's name, your friend was downright rude. Oh, and Josh is totally more common than Jaydon so I would've pointed that out!!!

That would definitely bother me too. I also hate when people suggest baby names for my kid too. It's like I don't need your opinion, in the end I'm picking the name thanks! lol. I think Jaydon is an adorable name! And it's not common at all, I've heard of it but I don't know any boys with that name. I love it though =) I'm trying to kinda keep my names a secret, although a few people know. But once I make a final decision I'm not telling anyone, people are too critical over name choices.

I wanted Jaydon for our little boy. I think it's a lovely name! DH vetoed it though because he didn't like it that Will Smith's son was called Jaydon lol. But I think it's lovely! If you want to call your little boy Jaydon then that's your choice, not his!!! I hate it when outsiders think it's ok to slag your choice of name off!!!
