Has anyone been diagnosed with a pericentric inversion? We have had little luck trying to conceive and had one miscarriage in June 2013 and have not conceived since even with the help of a fertility doctor. We were tested for chromosomal abnormalities and my husband has a pericentric inversion on chromosome #3. We were told invetro is our best option for a biological child but that they would not give us statistics for the likelihood of conception with a baby that would not have an abnormality due to lack of case studies. My husband, while carrying this abnormality, leads a normal life because his genes are all present, just out of order. His parents are getting tested to determine if he inherited this from one of them or if he is a new abnormality. In the meantime, we have taken a break from the fertility specialist and just trying to be happy. 2013 was the worst year of our lives. Does anyone have any experience with this? Any insight would be appreciated...

hi this is an old post but ill try. long story short, I had a beautiful healthy little boy six years ago. 2 years ago i got pregnant and had to terminate do to chromosome abnormalities. after doing testing they found out i had chromosome inversion of #3 a pericentric. a year ago i got pregnant unexpectedly and i didn't want to get attached because i thought there was going to be something wrong again. my H at the time bf was trying to keep me positive. of course 11 weeks took forever to come. sure enough as soon as she started scanning i got a terrible feeling and i looked at my mom bc i knew. the tech left and ake back with the dr. the began to tell me that they see a cystic hygroma, same thing as my first angel baby. except the my first had a few other abnormalities. over a year later were now married and have just come home from our honeymoon and im so badly wanting to try again. i took my last pill out of my bc the day we came home. in the last two years i have researched but not to much info so i guess im looking for real life stories and support other thhen drs who dont know anymore then what do myself.

Hi Ladies,

Im reaching out to you hoping you still check this forum. I Found you through researching my recently diagnosed condition which is pericentric inversion on my Chromosome 10. I have had multiple miscarriages in the last two years before I took some time off to get myself back healthy. I found your post Im hoping you guys are doing well. I would like to chat to see how you guys are thriving in spite of your condition. The multiple miscarriages have caused a lot of heartache and a strain on my marriage. I do not know if I should continue to try after 6 miscarriages.

I hope to speak to you soon

Regards,
LeeP
