Does anyone have this? I get spotting for a day either side but only bleed for a day.... Am starting to think this may be an issue although I can't find anything online that would suggest it is a problem....

Thanks!

hi jack... has your period always been like this? have you just come off the pill?

I am exactly the same! Never thougght it was a problem, even though it is quite recent for me-actually, since I have started taking vitB conmplex.. Well if you find out anything, let me know!

Frenchmummy- I never thought VitB could cause less flow. I thought it could help to lengthen LP (and thus allow more time for the uterine lining to grow) and thus you would have more blood durin AF. Hmmm...

What dosage of vitB do you take and what is it for?

Came off the pill about 3/4 years ago. It has always been short since then, but maybe for 2-3 days previously.... not sure what it means? x

I have this also and it has been on my mind more recently. I have had short periods since having the implant taken out 2 years ago. I am seeing the doctor on tues so will write a note to ask. Does anyone have experience of this?

Missymoon- good luck with the docs.

Jack - maybe its worth going to the docs to check out your hormone levels?

Are your cycles regular? Positive you're ovulating?

Go to a doc and ask to get checked out. Regardless of what you find on a google search, its not right.

I have light periods that only last a couple of days and I'm having a lap and dye to make sure my lining is not flowing backwards- it can block tubes. I'm not on Vit c. You prob also have a hormonal issue.

I had my hormones checked a while ago and he said they were normal. Achhh... just wait and see I think. xx

YOUR lining can flow backwards to block tubes? IS that endo?

It can cause it yes. Lap and dye is the final fertility test the NHS is asking for right now as they think everything else is fine.

The Napro specialists I am seeing privately (diff kind of treatment and care to NHS) want to prove there is no obstruction as the thoughts are- where is my lining going if it isn't coming out in a good flow??!! I'm hoping I just have a lighter flow now I'm in my 30s. My mum doesn't have long heavy periods either. Hopefully I will have success with Napro then I won't need ICSI or IVF with NHS. Napro doesn't involve any kind of treatment like that, its more about balancing the body's hormones and cycle with drugs (some of which NHS won't prescribe)

I have light short period on a regular basis and it always concerned me but never concerned my doctors, including my RE. I was actually told I was "lucky". Hhhmmm...it really doesn't feel lucky when you have been ttc for 7 years.

What hormone tests have you had? Day 3 and day 21? It might be worth rechecking them in any case (your GP can arrange this, no need to await a specialist appointment). You could also try temping (if you don't already) to see whether you have a sustained rise and how long your luteal phase is.
I have short light periods, which don't cause me any problems conceiving but I think that only one day is pushing the boat a bit. Since you have problems ttc-ing it would be sensible to start investigating the most obvious.

Went to see the doc today and she has asked me to go back aorund day 21 (but nothing was mentioned about day 3 checks!).........................

I have periods that are so light i don't need to use something every month i just see the blood on the tissue paper and in the toilet - sorry TMI, i've been wondering if this could be why we haven't had any luck with TTC. Have appointment on Tuesday with gynae will add this to the list of things to mention i think

Jack, a day 21 test is a good start! It would indicate whether you have ovulated or not.
Gregsprincess, I'd definitely be getting that checked out if you've been ttc-ing for long :hugs:

If we put NTNP and TTC we are on our 17th cycle now so not as long as some people but long enough to start feeling worried. My cycles are regular but just very light, even my OH said that he thought it was strange how light they are :shrug:

Well, I'd say it's worth investigating the most obvious first.

Have you thought about temping to see whether you have a temperature shift at when you think you ovulate?

I just started doing that this cycle. I had tried it earlier this year but was more confused as my temps were up and down the whole time so i gave up!!
