hey all... as some might know i had a lap and dye yesterday, went under at about 10am after blood works and stuff came back alright plus neg pregnancy test :( knew i wasn't pregnant anyways....

so before i got the surgery i was feeling dead nervous and very warm, but my temp was sitting at 34-35oC so they said that was fine, gave me something to calm me down and before i knew it i was out, when i woke up i didn't release at first it was over but within about 5seconds i was screaming in pain, the nurse gave me the recommended pain meds and left me 20mins still screaming in agony, then she gave me a 2nd dose, within 20mins still nothing she went to the op room to talk to my doctor who told her to give me something much stronger, but i had already been given painmeds in surgery so shouldn't have needed anything anyways but i did, so she gave me these higher pain meds which i felt great after having but they then moved me into recovery room and within 10mins was screaming in agony again, sadly they couldn't give me anything more so just had to try and bear it, ended up because i was in that much pain i started throwing up and shaking. they gave me something to stop me being sick and then more painkillers, i was out of surgery by 10:30, came around about 11ish roughly and from them onwards i was in utter agony, tried many times to go to the toilet but kept fainting, couldn;t get out of bed, had something to eat and then ended up sick again, they checked me over at 5:30pm and i was still really sick my BP was rock bottom and i couldn't walk but they discharged me with painkillers.

since then i haven't been much better, i contacted the hospital and they said the pain would subside by tomorrow but i am in agony, maxed out painkillers and i am bleeding almost period like, i am wondering if they also might have done a D&C while they were in there, my stitches look a mess and all they told me before i felt was my left tube was completely and utterly blocked and unfixable....

i can't really take this pain i have had none in my shoulders which they said i should its all in my stomach area and where they cut...

anyone else been in this much agony after lap and dye most people told me it was nothing but this was worse than my labour and i was in labour for 13days without any pain meds! so pain is something i am rather used too....

anyways thanks for listening to my rant

OMG hun... Thats sounds horrendous :( I'm so sorry it's like this. Should you go to A&E b/c that really doesn't sound right?? x

Oh my gosh hun that sounds awful:nope:!!! I really think you should go back if no better by tomorrow morning!! I am on the waiting list for a lap and dye and am now feeling slightly paniced by your story:shock: !!! Keep us posted on your progress hun xxx

:hugs:

Oh gosh, hun. I haven't had a lap and dye, but I've read about it on here several times. I've never heard anything like this. I'd go to the hospital (somewhere other than where you went!!) Better to confirm everything is ok than find out something really isn't right.

I hope you feel better extremely soon. This just doesn't sound right to me. I hope you get answers.

can't go back to the same hospital its miles away, i am going to call them again tomorrow if still feeling so shit.

they also said about the meds they gave me to bring home they are nothing compared to the daily ones i am on so even my ones prob wont take my pain away because i am that used to them :'(

Lynne honey im so sorry for both the extreme pain youre going through and the result...
I have never had a lap&dye so i dont know if this is normal, and i wonder if you should be bleeding this much. I would definately call the hospital to make sure its all normal. :hugs:

my goodness, what have they done to you!???
that doesn't sound alright at all, call...anyone who will listen
you shouldn't be in this much pain!

i've had lap and dye test last week, on monday afternoon.
couldn't eat or drink all day, they give you something to go #2 when you arrive.
then a nurse prepped me in the pre-op, put the IV in, bit uncomfy but not painful.
then to the operating room, where they were sooooo nice to me and put me to sleep.

woke up in the recovery, only nagging pain i felt, but PAIN, so when a nurse came to check on me
i told her it hurt and she gave me dipi (morphine like pain killer) and i was painfree almost instantly.

back in my room.... it hurt a little to get up and i moved around as if i was an old lady,
but by the day after i took a shower by myself (also, old lady style but hey)

i do agree, the stitches look horrible so soon after... and even days later
when i switched the bandaids, it still didn't look very nice.
i honestly thought they molested my belly button so much it would never look
like it did before.

but they got them out yesterday and it looks fine yay, going back to work today as well.

you get the sholder pain when you move around too much, so the air they put in you
goes up, then it feels as if your sholder hurts, only remedy to that is to go lay down again and be good hehe

didn't get the bleeding, i was having my period though but it was lighter than usual.
first time i went to the bathroom i lost some dark red fluid and i was like "eeeeeew"
but that over in a matter of hours too, probably some left over dye

also...when i peed, it was green, lol

so that's my experience and probably the one of most ppl
it shouldn't be a horrible thing, so if it is... definatly call anyone who will listen to you
bc it's already enough emotional pain to go through that you sure as hell don't need the physical pain on top of it

call hosp nothing they can do just got got to wait it out :( hopefully start feeling better soon... pain meds still doing nothing, my urine was blue from dye, still bleeding period not due till 28th. had no shoulder pain at all.

I've had 7 laps of varying degrees. I can only think that your pain is due to - 'my left tube was completely and utterly blocked and unfixable....' - maybe they were trying to force the dye down? Does the pain feel one sided, all over, backwards/forwards etc?

Pain relief varies massively from hospital to hospital and what they actually did. When they don't do much, they quite often just give you a couple of paracetamol and expect that to be enough. At my last one, which was pretty major, they gave me a morphine drip which I could control myself (just push a button for an extra shot). And my bleeding has varied massively as well from literally nothing to period like (and lumps, TMI).

I would call them if you're still in that much pain today and ask what exactly they did while they were in there so that if you need to ask someone else for help you can explain what's been done first.

Your belly button looks tragic at first but it does get better quite quickly.

Really hope that you're feeling a bit better today. xxx

thanks 4 info 7 laps wow, painkillers gave me were pretty heavy but cause i take high painkillers regularly they don't help. i'm hoping it just my luck and got bad end but will see moving around bit better now although pain still pretty bad. its just were they cut and inbetween the two cuts

Hopefully you'll heal quite quickly since it's the cuts that are hurting rather than inside. Still no fun at all and not helped by your tolerance to painkillers, you poor thing! Try and stay in bed or in front of the tv for a couple of days. After my bad ones, I would literally do nothing other than go to the loo or shower (with some help getting in and out).

Bet you're pleased you aren't moving house today!! I couldn't believe it when you said you were planning to do that the day after!

thanks hun feeling really ill as said before this hurts worse than my 13day labour with my son, feel like gonna throw up, my period like bleeding has gotten worse :( trying to get up and about because its my son's birthday party on sunday and birthday on tuesday so trying my best to be some what functioning

If you're feeling that bad, I really think you should be relaxing. You've got two days before a childrens birthday party so surely that means you should be recuperating while you can? (at least for today) Sorry, I'm just worried that you're going to do yourself some damage by doing too much too soon since you're in so much pain.

hospital said to move about as much as possible that it would help

how weird, the different approaches, mine said to take it easy, esp the first days

woke up today feeling really rough terrible headache and pains in my stomach took a shower last night and i think the cuts are infected.

I am so sorry you're going through this, it sounds horrific. How are you feeling tonight? any change? Any luck speaking to the hospital? If there's any hint of an infection, i would really advise you to go to at least your GP for an examination

Im so sorry about the tube situation - there is so much to take in and get your head round, we're here if you need to talk x

got brusies on my arms and back thinking they were really rough not sure, but anyways pains not better sadly i am trying to cope through it but still taking a huge toll on me.

yes i have a tilted uterus far backwards but they knew that already, but yeah maybe, i think they might have been trying to muck about with my blocked tube or something and thats why the pain?

going to wait till monday and see how i stitches and that are have been bathing them in salt water so hopefully that will help even a little, but see what district nurse says on monday about it... i'm more worried about the period bleeding i am having kinda werid how heavy its been
