pessary induction!

The consultant has said she wants induction before 40 weeks.....eeekk!

Ive never even considered allowing to be induced but with the boys RFM and general niggle worries on my part im agreeing to it. Not what i want but i know if i ignored my gut and something happened to Fox i would never forgive myself.

Anyone been induced with 3rd baby? Did it take more then one pessary?

Very scared and anxious but i know its the right way to go

yeh first was pessary. inserted 2cm at 3oclock i was 10cm by 4 , 2 hours pushing she was out no pain relief, 9lb 3 see its not all nightmares

I had the pessary induction with both pregnancies.
First one I had the pessary at 9.30am on a Wednesday and got the gel 24 hours later and gave birth 5.20am on the Friday.
With the second one I got the pessary at 1pm on the Friday and gave birth at 6.40am on the Saturday. They said the second time goes quicker as your body knows what to do when in labour. Fingers crossed and good luck!

When i was induced with little miss 14 days ago they said i was dialated enough to just break my waters and not go with the pessary,Have they checked your cervix yet?x

They tried to do a sweep but couldnt reach my cervix. Its always been shy lol.

I don't have any advice am afraid but I'm being induced next thursday with my secong do will be interested to see how you get on.

Had a check up today and midwife said that they won't do a sweep unless baby is engaged - which she's not even though they've been requested by consultant.

The consultant seemed hopeful that as its my second baby they will be able to just break my waters to induce, and avoid the pessary. But like you I guess it depends if the can reach my cervix.

Good luck for tomorro hope all goes well, will be stalking to find out what happens as VERY nervous about my own induction x

No advice - wishing you all the best of luck. I know it's not what you wanted but at least you can plan a little ahead of time which is a luxury lol. Hope it goes smoothly and I'm sure you'll do great! Can't wait to read Fox's birth story!

After waiting 5 hours they have finally got round to doing the first pessary. Fingers crossed he is a good boy and comes in the next 24 hours so I don't need another pessary.

Having had the drip before last time I had the pessary and it was great...........worked well for me took a while and then all over v quickly
