you can get plenty he wont mind carrying, i wouldnt give him a valid excuse to not take baby out for a couple of hours every now and then! I had a rucksack one and had DS in a baby carrier so had hands free and walked everywhere. No reason why you cant have 2 I guess (except for expense) x
