I took my daughter for a shoot with these last week and im due to go and see the pictures on friday!
I have read reviews on pixifotos and most are BAD :/
people saying they are a rip off, pressure you into buying the photos etc..
now im dreading going on friday!
and I did find it slightly strange how on the day of the shoot, they wouldnt tell me prices! I was told I would find those out on the day of going to see the photos..hmm...

So, whats was your expierence with them like? and how were prices for you?
x

I used to be photographer for pixifoto and i left because they were so dam pushy, i didnt like working with them at all :nope: x

Extortionate! Was £200 just for the disc of 8 photos!

Hi
i had a shoot done in one of the studios when Lo was 4.5 months old. Firstly, the photos looked amazing even though she wouldn't smile. I got to view my photos straight after and yes they can be a bit devious!! We picked out all the ones we liked before narrowing it down ans they told us the price and make you feel like your getting a bargain. At £400 odd for them all didn't seem much of a bargain!! I was quite blunt and said i can afford all of them.

I think if i remember correctly we got the main one free and then it was £105 for 5 pics 155 for 10 and 205 for 20. That was 8x10's. It can be a combination of 8x10's, two 7x5's on one sheet or a 7x5 and 4 wallet sized prints. We got 6 8x10's and a large picture with 3 smaller ones down the side aswell.

They do make you feel guilty as the pics are so nice. Before you go in decide on your budget and stick to it!!! You can just get the free one if you want.
Hope this helps hun x x

The pictures were gorgeous..

but.

They prices were extortionate and the sales guy was pushy. Set yourself a budget before you go and dont let them bully you. We only went to get our freebie pic and left with £150 worth of photos. If we had got all the ones we wanted it would have been over £500.

Dont buy the frames. Our fav pic was for a floating frame. It was nearly £100 extra to buy the frame. I got the exact same frame off ebay for £10 and it took me ten minutes to frame it myself.

I went about 4 weeks ago, I was approached in mothercare and told about a free photo and the shoot would be £5. After the 20 min shoot I had to wait 20 mins before the photos were ready to be viewed so thats 40 mins with a now cranky baby who was crying as I took a further 20 mins to pick which photos I wanted.
I then asked how much they were for all of them and was told £2000!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So I had to eliminate ones I didnt like which is hard when they are pictures of your baby for me this is equal to emotional blackmail.
I said I didnt want any frames and then picked 5 8x10 photos for £105
It was 2 weeks untill they would be ready and when I got home after sitting down with no pressure or pushy sales person down my neck or baby crying I realised I wanted to change one of the pictures and rang up pixi photo but was told that once the order had been sent it couldnt be changed.

i got the 'free' one with my son in 09. yes its a beautiful photo but what they dont say is the first photo they take is your free one. Also they were so pushy and made me feel guilty for not being able to buy the rest of the pictures x

As above posters said! Too pushy, I got a deal with a free photo and ended up buying more. The photos were okay, some were good, some had obvious shadows on DD's face?! I hated that they printed all of the photos out for you before viewing them on a screen so I felt so guilty knowing that the ones I didn't pick were just going to get shredded :'( we ended up spendind £95 more than the £5 I expected to pay for a gift photo but much less than the £300 they wanted for the full set! Xxx

I paid £50 for 2 sets of photos (1 big portrait, 2 medium & 4 small pics)
The man i had wasnt pushy at all, showd me the pics, left me for 5 mins to decide, asked what i wanted & that was it.. It was very busy though so maybe that was why!

I went a few weeks ago. Had 8 sets of photos taken and was priced at £225 for the lot. I then forgot to take my paperwork when I went to pick them up and was told it was £45 for the first, and I cant remember how much for 2 but for 3 it was £75 and £20 each after that (whole set would have been less than quoted £175). We bought 4 sets for £95 and are really happy with them. Even though my OH is great at taking photos and I said I will ojnly get the freebie.. :haha: they were great. No pressure to buy, we were left to look at the items while he served someone else. All very polite and gave us some free keyrings.

i have always gone to pixi photos, i even use the mobile studios.
i have never had a problem with pushy-ness........ they would always put photos up on a wall then leave the room so me and OH can pick the ones we like, they left a price list with us as well.
I have always picked which photo was my free one on the day of the shot , ie. i want the one with the teddy as my freebie.
and i have no problem with the price, i buy the sets and find them resonable..... unlike some places ( i know of one couple who pain nearly a grand for A photo)

My pics r nice but expensive they made me feel bad about not affording them, these r some of mine quality here isnt great but thats coz its a photo of a photo iykwim The family one is the free one - they dont tell u it has 2 be in colour. x

There are so many cheap and good photographers out there.I sometimes don;t understand why people will go to pixifoto and pay loads of money.

Here are some pictures:

I went because I had a voucher for a free photoshoot and gift photo. We just ended up liking more and my mum and gran wanted one each too.
The photos I got are really nice!

The last one is the freebie. I am happy with them. I guess its each to their own where they go for their photos. My OH can take great photos, but he just doesnt have the time.
