plastic baby sippy cups

i've just started giving water to my little girl with her new mam sippy cup ...i posted which one i've got. Once my mom saw it she told me to never EVER give her water from a plastic sippy cup .something about how sience's found out that all those plastic baby plates ,tapper, or cups could give cancer and other deasees to babies .... I got so upset cz she loves her new sippy cup and i love it too ...its so beautifuly pink isnt it ?... and so much easier for her to carry arround then the glass bottles... now i went back to glass bottles she doent drink as much water this way but i guess its better?
im just wondering what every one thinks about this ...

maybe shes talking about that BPA thing which most bottles are BPA free now you will find the MAM ones i should think are definiatly BPA free as there dummies are so i dont see why there bottle and sippy cups wouldnt be same as most bottles

Yes I though BPA too. It's fine for her to have that cup
