Please assure me I'm not the only one who does this...

Especially when LO has a growth spurt and is feeding all night, I sit up in bed feeding him on a v-shaped pillow, and I literally nod off whilst feeding him as I'm just so tired! I wake up and he's come off the boob and is fast asleep with me still holding on to him!
Please tell me I'm not the only one who has done this! It makes me feel like such a bad mum! :-(

I have slept holding both many times. With ellie I just made her nurse laying down from day 1, and I get loads of sleep at night. William would only sleep in day in my arms, usually on the couch (big no no). Had him on edge with short fall, but I never move in my sleep so never a concern of mine.

I fall asleep sometimes with her on a pillow on my lap. I just can't help it, especially around the 3.30-4am feed because I was in a deep sleep when she woke me up I just can't help but nodding off. I try and keep myself awake, but it's hard sometimes isn't it!

Yup same here! I use to try and stay awake with tv etc but also kept her awake meaning longer feedtime xx

I feed lying down and fall asleep. I just cosleep now. he stays in our bed from about 11. I love breastfeeding and cuddling him in bed <3

Almost every night since LO was born ^^

I think this is much safer than sat up feeding a baby if you know you are going to fall asleep  The baby could roll off you and that doesn't bear thinking about xx

I have a breastfeeding cacoon. Lol. It's 2 pillows behind me to sleep on, but i stack then so I can sit up comfortably, then I have two pillows on my right, and 2 pillows on my left. When I first fed her I had to feed her in the football hold because I had a c-section, so normally that's what we do and the pillows prop her up and prevent her from falling. Plus we have a HUGE bed and I kind of placed my 'nest' in the middle. :haha: poor OH sleeps on the edge with one pillow!

But yes, sometimes around that 3am-4am feed I can't help but nod off.

Not to thread hijack, but how in the world do you ladies breast feed laing down? I've tried it a few times and it just doesn't work for us!

It can take a bit of getting used to! I'm not b/f any more, i stopped feeding my 27 month old about 8 weeks ago, but we used to co-sleep, and I'll be feeding new baby again in a few weeks. I used to sleep with one arm benhind my head, under the pillow, facing baby. Baby would sleep next to me, below the pillow, sort of under my arm, next to my boob (did that make sense?) i would just pull her in when she needed feeding at first, but as she got older she would just latch on herself, i would often wake up and she'd be feeding away, lol xx

I sit reclined in bed bf'ing my LO but there's no way I could fall asleep. In the accident& emergency room I used to work in we had a large-breasted lady who did this and suffocated her baby, the baby couldn't be saved. I cannot tell you how traumatized I was and it has haunted me since. So when my eyes start to droop my brain sends some alarm and I get a jolt of adrenaline which wakes me right up! Sorry for being so morbid girls :(
