Hi Ladies,

I am ttc and have been for just over a year. I am a smoker have done everything possible to try and give up. I know its sounds selfish but I am fiding the ttc so stressful and just pulling my hair out knowing what to do. I know the minute I get that BFP I will stop that will be it end of.

I guess my question are Nicotine patches etc ok while ttc as I know I cant go cold turkey but need some help.

The rest of my life is pretty healthy eat well, not overweight, dont drink apart from the occassional glass of wine, I am trying to cut this out aswell.

Im worried I am 34 soon my Hubby is 41. Feels like its never going to happen.

My mum smoked through five pregnancies. My aunty smoked through three pregnancies. As did my cousin.
I know what 'research' says, but we were all over 7lbs and have never been sick or anything. I realise ladies on here are going to slay me for saying that, because 'every woman is different' but 11 pregnancies with no complications...I dont know. There's been so much scientific research into the effects of smoking when pregnant... but i dont know whether its right. I just know that nothing was wrong with 11 of us.

And no, before some of you yell and screech, they werent selfish and not thinking of their children, it was just a different time and there wasnt any scary reports about smoking and pregnancy.

Anyway, I hope if its what you want, you manage to quit and get that BFP :) x

best thing to do is go to local pharmacy (newleaf) and ask there opinion i think something like that would be better than smoking but im no expert :)

my mum quit jan this year as her grand kids started pretending smoking saying im like my mamma and think it was the wake up call she needed.. however my mum smoked with me before all the complications research was about and i was healthy... as did my gran etc...

at least your doing it and trying quit before pregnancy and babies bor . noone would think bad of you x
