My 18 month old just head butted me square in my bump. It hurt! I felt my uterus kind of flex out to the sides iykwim. I called triage and the midwife I spoke to was less than helpful. She asked if I'd had bleeding. I said no as it happened just two minutes before I called. She asked if I'd started feeling movements yet, I said I thought I had in the last couple of days so she said if I don't feel movements by 12 o clock then call back. Wtf?!?! It's completely normal to not feel movements for a day or two at this gestation. Most women aren't feeling any!
What should I do? I'm worried sick. :'(
My husband just said, well there's nothing they can do anyway!

I wouldn't personally worry too much I only started feeling kicks around 20 weeks with this baby :) but if it eases your mind go to antenatal clinic xx

Do you have a Doppler? Im sure baby is fine though, they are very protected in their bubble! I was a wreck when I fell down the stair but he was totally fine

I wouldn't worry too much. The baby will be very protected in there. My son keeps kicking my bump. If you've not had any cramping or bleeding, I'd say baby will be perfectly happy in there xx

Thank you girls. I don't have a Doppler, although I'm considering going out and getting one right now. I called triage back and this time the midwife said. I don't know why you're worried, there's nothing we can do anyway. Although that's true, I think it's so insensitive. She won't let me come in, said I had to go to a and e as I'm not 17 weeks yet. Obviously a and e don't have the facilities to listen to baby, so I'm not doing that.

You just need to keep an eye out for any further symptoms like bleeding. A&E was pointless when I fell and hit my bump at 28weeks as, like you said, they could only listen for LO with stethoscope and couldn't hear anything (although by that point LO had started dancing around like a mad thing so I wasn't worried).

Are you in the UK? As when I needed to be seen at 17 weeks I was seen in the gynecology ward as you have to be 18+ for maternity/Labour ward, they were fantastic with me

They've just said a and e is my only option. Gynae department and epau are closed today anyway. I've ordered myself a Doppler, but it won't arrive until Tuesday and I have a midwife appointment on Thursday. I think I felt movements about an hour ago, but it's so early I can't be sure, more like little pops or flutters which could just be muscle twitches? I've had no bleeding and I feel normal, do you think it's ok to just kind of wait and see? Xx

My 4 year old used my bump as a spring board the other week (accidentally) and baby is fine! They really are so well protected in there xx
