So before I fell pregnant last time I was a tiny uk size 8 and when I fell pregnant and got my little bump it was just the cutest! :haha: it was very obviously a baby bump aswell (yes ive attached pictures :haha: ) so my question is , being that I gained a shit ton of weight last pregnancy and after and never really lost it, this time round I'm starting off with a pretty flabby tummy region :haha: and I was just wondering to any other bigger mummy's to be out there how did you find your bump progressed? I know I know it is terribly vain! :haha: but I want to have a nice bump again! :brat: clearly it WILL be a hell of a lot bigger but I want to feel like I look pregnant and not just like ive put even more weight on? :/ Are my "beautiful bump" dreams out the window for this time round? :haha:

I never lost all my baby weight between having my second and falling pregnant with this one. I'm 19 weeks and just starting to need maternity clothes rather than normal clothes as up until now my bump has looked like fat rather baby. I'm hoping from now on it will firm up and look like more of a bump

I am a uk size 14/16 but i used to be a 26/28 so as you can imagine my tummy area has some lose skin. I am currently 15 weeks and have actually lost weight so no sign of a bump yet but I'm hopeful that when I'm further on ill have a nice bump. Think it just takes a little longer to show if you carry weight around your tummy. That said...With my DS (he's now 10) I was a size 18/20 when I was pregnant and had a MASSIVE bump from early on with him. Think every pregnancy is different even in the same woman.

P.s. I'd love a cute bump like you have in those photos!!

I'm plus-sized and haven't really gained weight but just recently I've started showing!! My stomach has become harder and fully round around week 20. I'm just careful to wear tight shirts and sweaters because otherwise I get the "you don't even look pregnant!" Comment which I don't necessarily want!

Here is a pic from a few weeks ago!

I didn't lose any weight between dd2 and getting pregnant so I always looked fat right in the middle. Never thought I'd get a bump until much later but at 18 weeks my husband said overnight I just looked pregnant. I guess it rounded out and hardened. Looks less like rolls now more like baby lol.

I started off chubby already when I got pregnant and I honestly didn't see a true 'bump' until around 5/6 months :/

I wondered this too!! I'm not particularly big I don't think, but I gained about 30lb in nursing school right before getting pregnant. I've also never been a petite build, even at my ideal weight I have a good shape but tall, kinda broad-shouldered, wider hips, that kinda stuff. I hope I get a cute bump!! I'm afraid even if I do, it will take a long time. I'm 14weeks today and still I don't think I look pregnant. I can't see it even if I pull up on my loose belly...not even a lump.

This was my last successful pregnancy around the 38/39 mark. I am a US 16 size so chunky (to give ya an idea 216 lbs is what I started with that pregnancy. This pregnancy I'm at 222 lbs starting). I would like to think I got a nice bump in my last pregnancy.

I was 225 to start. This is week 19, I don't know if I've gained any weight. As of week 16 I had not.

Well I put on 3 stone with ds and didn't really lose any after having him and now I'm a stone heavier than I was at 40 weeks with ds but I'm glad to report ive got a huge lovely round bump. It's toght not jiggly. And it's been this way since 14 weeks 👍😊👍x

Thanks ladies for all the replies :flower: and the bumps posted are just beautiful! I can't wait to get mine now and not just look like I've gained even more weight! :dohh: :haha:

I started my pregnancy at around 200 LB, now I'm about 215. TBH, It did take me a while to actually start showing, because I carry most of my weight in my mid section but after I did start showing, I think my bump is quite nice, and I actually get a lot of compliments. I wouldn't worry about it at all, all woman; whether obese or petite, look wonderful pregnant.

No way are you plus-sized, you look teeny!

OP, I wasn't big in my first pregnancy but got pregnant before Christmas and then gained loads of weight over the holidays that I couldn't lose because I couldn't diet. I was about 10.5 stone by 14 weeks, which is a normal BMI for my height but I felt big! Anyway I carry ALL my weight in my tummy, but I found that it just looked like a baby bump from quite early on. I think I was offered seats on the train from about 16 weeks or so!

Don't think I really started showing until about 21 weeks. Before that I just looked a bit chubby with huge boobs! I'm a size 16/18, 5'3 and mostly leg so looking pretty round! I've gained quite a bit mostly due to giving up a extremely active job I think but i'm loving my bump!

i was 22/24 pre-pregnancy and just really started showing the past couple of weeks. I have a B stomach and the bump is on top and I am carrying wide.
This is me this morning while trying on dresses. Plus size maternity clothes are impossible to find!

They are practically impossible to find it is ridiculous. I went into a Maternity store that does carry some plus size clothing...they severely over stated that claim it was a few over priced and very uncomfortable looking items. I was super disappointed. I have found a couple pieces at Old Navy and a couple at walmart but that is it. For now I am dealing with what I have but I worry about future challenges.

You'll get nice and bumpy even with a little extra weight. I'm a 16US, and I started to show in a pretty normal period of time. I'll post a few progression photos - 7, 12, 17, 25, and 29 weeks, I believe (some are mid-week)

Plus size maternity clothes really are a pain! I'm lucky that I'm in maternity XL so I can just squeak by in regular stores. Why is there no maternity version of Lane Bryant or something? I have mostly Old Navy, with a bit of Motherhood and Kohls stuff.

Thanks Jules! It gets in the way sometimes, but overall I love it :) And maternity pants on holidays? Best thing ever! I think I'll keep mine for next Christmas ;)
