My daughter is almost 3 months old, and lately, she's been pooping during/after every feeding! She's had irregular poop patterns before - sometimes going days without, and other times pooping more than usual.

But this has been going on for a few days now. I'm wondering if its normal. I've started giving her a new gripe water, Colic Calm, which is a black product so it has been turning her poops green (it warns of that on the package) so I can't even really tell if her poops are normal.

I've noticed that if I give her less gripe water, or if its been a day since she's had the black stuff, the colour is going back to that golden yellow/orange that breastfed babies are supposed to have.

After reading several desriptions of baby diarrhea online, I'm still having trouble telling whether it could be diarrhea.

Anyone else had this happen?

Hi! Sorry you have been dealing with poo issues. If the color is back to that yellow, and comes during a feed, I would think it is normal. Breastmilk can have a laxative effect, so babies often have a bowel movement during or right after nursing. My little boy certainly did!
Good luck!

My youngest pooed up to 20x a day until he was about 5 months, he had real diarrhoea as well on other occasions and trust me its different, diarrhoea tends to give them an instant nappy rash, smells awful like dead fish/rotting meat, and tends to be mostly water or mucus with a few more solid lumpy bits in, even at this age. Xx
