I potty trained my LO back in October. We just switched from diapers to underwear one day and that was the end of it. He caught onto the idea really quick.

The problem is still now after almost 6 months .. he still dribbles in his underwear almost EVERY time he goes to pee.. leaving a big wet spot on his underwear and still requiring an undie change several times a day
I dont understand why ... sometimes its because he waits so long hes bursting because hes so busy playing. But sometimes I remind him to go and he goes and only has a small pee and still does it

Any idea why and if this is normal or not? And how to put a stop to it?

My OH think s this is not normal and that he shouldn't be having any accidents anymore and that my LO just doesn't care if he makes it to yhe potty in time or not. But im not sure he can actually control it

No advice I'm afraid but we're in a similar situation. I potty trained LO nearly 7 months ago but I have to do several underwear changes a day due to damp knickers. She holds on too long and then leaks a bit. It's even more frustrating as it tens to be only when we're home or at grandparents. Out and about she's generally fine. Keep hoping each week it will get better, but not so far! Guess just to wait for them to grow out of it!

Having the exact same issue as well. Lo doesn't seem to find it an issue at all now no matter how many times we explain to him he needs to tell us he needs a wee wee and remind him where wee wees go (he knows every time) sometimes we have kinda made him go.. He has shown signs that he needs to go.. He's protested all the way but as soon as he is at the loo he goes straight away so I know he's bursting.. I know he is recognising the signs as he doesn't have the same issue when we are out.
I guess going back to basics.. Reminding them maybe every hour to go?
Glad it's not just me but sorry can't offer any advice, kinda hoping he will grow out of it!

We are having a similar problem- a lot like Bluebell actually, in fact I was considering posting a thread about it too.

DD1 was potty trained in August and did really well for a couple of months but then started to get damp pants occasionally. As Bluebell said, it tends to be at home, Grandmas or nursery, if we are out and about she is typically fine. In fact yesterday we were out from 9.30am-6pm and her pants were completely dry but today she has already had a change.

I have tried not reacting, I have tried a reward chart, telling her to go every 30 mins, never reminding her to go, monitoring her fluid intake. Once, after the fifth time in a day, I admit I got angry and told her she would have to go back into nappies but she just said 'we can get dry pants mummy, I won't do it again' and promptly did it again an hour later :dohh:

Now I have sort of given up. She knows I am disappointed when she does it but I don't get cross, I do make her go and put her pants in the wash bin and get clean ones though, I got sick of running up and downstairs for her! And I go over the top happy when she has a dry morning/afternoon.

Hoping she grows out of it really soon!

My son does this sometimes too, especially if he is really wrapped up in playing and doesn't want to stop. I've started just having to tell him its time to take a potty break if I notice its been quite a while since he last went, and I am noticing him holding himself etc clearly needing to go and just not wanting to take a break. He doesn't complain when I tell him he needs to take a break, and always goes right away so he was clearly needing to take the break to go!
