hey!

I wondered if anyone had any advice please as am at the end of my tether!

Started potty training little man last thursday he is just coming up to 23 months and i thought would be a good time to start potty training as he showing most signs and also the fact that i had 2 weeks off so could really concentrate on getting him out of nappies otherwise the next time i could do it would be christmas and that not ideal.

He would sit on potty after prompting to start with and day one we had 3 pottys and 3 accidents. day 2 we had 3 pottys and 4 accidents, day 3 no pottys and lots of accidents as tried to get him to use it on his own when he told us obviusly this didn't happen.

day 4 he used the big toilet and we had a poo and two wees and he thought that was great. day 5 yesterday he was at nursery and he asked for the toilet "apparently" and went twice and had two accidents. Today he has had 2 accidents so far this morning. I actually just want to cry and worried he never going to get it. We have potty chart we made for him and he gets stickers already moved on to a sweetie after potty but I just not sure he gets it.

He just active boy who doesn't want to be stuck on a potty and actually now doesn't want to even sit on it

People keep telling me he will get it and it just clicks but I just don't know and am so confused any advice would be much appreciated.

It doesnt seem that he is quite ready yet, 23 months is very young for a boy, most boys arent trained until around 3 years. If it was me I would leave him for now and try again in a few months but if you really want to get it over with now the best advise I can give is nakey time, while in the house keep him naked from the waist down and keep the potty (or several) in sight at all times and keep reminding him, gently, that the potty is there and he can use it if he wants. Does he tell you when he needs to go ?? or does he wait till after ?? can he pull his own trousers up and down ?? There is going to be ALOT of accidents, my eldest took a full year to train !!! lol But one thing I do know, they will only train when they are ready to and if you push them then it will take longer. Good luck x
