my friend and his wife are expecting a little girl. She's not due until the end of October, but had a planned c-section a week earlier.
They also have a little boy who is 2 and he was born 3 weeks early because there was a knot in the cord and he stopped growing.
Well this baby is not growing and they go to fetal maternal medicine 2 times a week to check on the baby's growth.
They went last week and said that the c-section would be moved up 3 weeks earlier, to october 3rd.
Well they had an appointment this morning again and they are doing the c-section today! Last week at the ultrasound she was barely 4 pounds.
Hopefully all goes well for them! They're expecting a tiny baby, but the doctors think she's much safer out, then staying in, because she's not getting any nutrients. Please keep them in your prayers. The baby will be 5 weeks early.
***UPDATE***
Sorry it took so long! Adalyn was born thursday evening, she was 4lbs 1.4oz 15.75 inches. She went to the NICU and has been there since. She is doing extremely well though!! As of today, she is back to her birth weight, because she obviously lost weight the past couple days. She got moved today to the progressive care nursery which is one step closer to home!! She should be able to hopefully go home by the end of this week. She is absolutely beautiful! My OH and i went to visit at the hospital yesterday, and both mom and dad are recovering well.
She explained to us what exactly happened: she went in to her fetal maternal doctors appointment thursday morning and after they did the urine test, they said she had developed severe toxemia (protein in urine) and they did an ultrasound like they normally do, because she was having the baby early anyways due to lack of growth. The doctors came in and told her YOU'RE HAVING A BABY TODAY! lol and they wouldn't even let her go home and get her bags ready. They kept her all day, and c-sectioned her at night. The doctors said the baby would be much safer out here than inside, because she wasn't receiving any nutrients.
Anyways just wanted to update!!
