I had pre e with my first baby so when my bp started to go up they started to check up on me more often. Yesterday I went to my usual check up at the hospital but plus 1 protein showed up in my urine and bp was slightly up so they transferred me to another hospital which specialises in complications. I spent three hours there wired up to the fb machine with a bp cuff going off every 15 minutes.. my bp was up then down then very up and back down.. they took blood but nothing was coming out so had to take it twice :( after a few hours they come back in and told me my bp was pregnancy induced hypertension and my blood tests were point 3 over the limit so Im boarderline pre e.. they let me go jome but I have to go back in tomorrow for a growth scan and more tests to see if anything is getting worse.. Im 37 weeks today so Im thinking they might start me off or do an emcs.

if this has happened to you before please share your story xx

Yep happened to me last time! I was borderline @ my 36w appt and again @37w when I went in for a ctg due to reduced movements and (pretty recklessly) I was then left to get on with it between 37-40 weeks (appointment shortage at time)
At my 40 week appt I had a different MW who nearly had a fit when she saw my notes and BP (160/110) I was sent into hospital, BP stabilised on beta blockers immediately and started induction the next morning! Induction went well and was out with my baby less than 24 hours after giving birth. Stayed on the beta blockers for a couple of weeks and had a few extra post partum checks at home for my blood pressure.
All been normal ever since.

Downside was DS was smaller than expected (7lbs instead of predicted 9lbs) but given his sunny side up entrance, that was probably a good thing!

thanks dan-o its good to hear positive stories. I have a growth scan tomorrow and might request a c section.. how are things going with you? xxx

Oooh good luck for your scan tomorrow! Are they thinking big/small or just checking to see if its ok to deliver now?
Were you going to have a c-section anyway?

Yep all fine with me at the mo. BP still the same as pre-pregnancy so I doubt it will go up now! Baby's moved a bit so I can breathe again now, tiredness kicking in though, feel sorry for my toddler, I'm one grumpy mama lol!!!! :haha:

he seems to feel pretty average and my fh is bang on for the dates. Im just not happy continuing the pregnancy with hypertension and pre e if I dont need to. I would rather have him safe in my arms. I think they want to check his weight in case they do need to deliver early.. Im not sure if they would let.me have a c section but with high bp I would prefer one. xx
