I had extreme morning sickness with both of my girls and was crossing my fingers that this time around would be different, but it's not. I have lost 10 pounds, and find it hard enough to take care of myself let alone my 2 daughters. Everything is a struggle lately and I just pray for it to be bedtime so I can rest and get ready for another day. I will say I am proud of myself tonight, got the girls dinner, a snack before bed, gave them baths, brushed their teeth and tucked them in. The entire time I felt like throwing up but I held it down and made it through. It's nights like these that make me wonder why I thought I wouldn't be sick this time around? Silly me for thinking things would be different...

Oh, congratulations for your pregnancy and I am so sorry for your health. It is true that unrelenting morning sickness can have a profound effect on your quality of life, preventing you from working, socialising and looking after your other children. Plus it brings a lot of psychological stress, including anxiety and depression.
Did you discuss this issue with your gyno? He might be able to prescribe drugs that won’t harm your baby. Weight loss associated with repeated vomiting and dehydration can lead to hospitalisation, administration of IV fluids and nutrition. So be sure to consult a doctor. Two crackers before your head leaves the pillow is old but wise advice. Have sips of ice water as the urge to purge strikes. Many women say that this helps them keep meals down as well. I hope it settles down by the end of the first trimester.

Aww hun i feel for you. I want a 2nd baby after this one in a couple of years but for the first 12 weeks i felt rubbish. Especially between weeks 6-8 i laid in bed feeling sick and weak. I thought id be home for most of my pregnancy too.

i lost a baby at ten weeks 7 years ago and i had lower blood pressure. I ended up with an injection and sickness tablets. Felt depressed and could not bare the smell of anything.

this time its been exhausted and feeling sickly but still managed to do a bit. I am fine now ill walk into town again now and not worry about smells etc.

it varies so much so i always worry if i could cope with being pregnant and looking after a baby. I want to make sure i enjoy this one for at least 2 and a half years before i fall pregnant again.

feel better soon lovely xx

So sorry you feel so awful. When I was pregnant with my dd, my ds was 8 years old and very able to feed himself and do things if I wasn't feeling well.

Now my dd is 2 and I'm 8 weeks pregnant and having such a hard time. I knew it would be much different this time because I'd have a toddler. Some days are just terrible and I can feel like I'm getting depressed. Like, how many more weeks can I even do this?
I'm currently taking Zofran, but that just stops me from throwing up, not from being sick 24/7.
When did the ms let up in your last two pregnancies? I'm praying mine is on its way out! <3

Thanks for all of your kind words of support, it helps a lot! I had ms the entire first pregnancy and for the first 20 weeks of my second pregnancy. So hoping this is more like my second pregnancy and doesn't last the entire time. I am on 4mg of Zofran every 8 hours, it usually helps me keep food down but I do still feel sick all the time! Sucking on mints seems to curb the sick feeling, until the mint is gone of course but that's all that I have found to somewhat help. So glad my husband has seen me through this 2 times, he doesn't complain and just does what he can to help me.

I am there with you....I suffered from MS with my second pregnancy and she was a girl...not sure about this one. It's actually been getting worse recently. I can't handle smells and I can NEVER have an empty stomach as I start retching. Ughhh I hate feeling this way...I just hope it doesn't last long for any of us.

Is it possible to up your dose? I take 8mg of Zofran every 8-ish hours. I also made sure to get the kind that dissolves on your tongue. It works SO much faster/better IMO.
That way, if I'm feeling OK, I can bite the pill in half and only take 4mg and be able to take another 4mg in a few hours. That seems to have kept me from laying on the couch all day.
Also, I've been ready about how people are taking Benadryl 25mg for their morning sickness. I took one yesterday and had the best day I can remember in 2+ weeks. I felt almost normal!
Maybe talk to your Dr about it?

I know its probs not a cure but anything worth a try. B6 vitamin has been proven to help relieve ms xx
