Hi all
I have just been prescribed Clomid for the first time (TTC number 1 for 2 years at the age of 40, never had a BFP). Ive always been a bit anti it but my acupuncturist suggested it might be good for me as my temps are a bit on the low side.
I have read about various side effects of Clomid. I am due to be having a hectic time at work when I first take the tablets. Can anyone advise when the best time is take them - morning or night? I have read that headaches can be horrendous so its better to suffer those at night when you might be able to slep through them. So do I take the tablet in the morning for the headache to come on night?
Any advice gratefully received!

Thank you!

Thank you nessaw. I am in Herts too (can't work out how to get that on my profile) good to know you haven't suffered anything nasty. I'm just on 50g. Did you go straight to 100g? I'm away from home with work for two weeks. Have it in my head that my OH should come up for my fertile window as each month seems too precious to waste.... Is that madness? Slightly concerned I am seeing clomid as foolproof too and that that will bring about some miracle....

I think its in edit profile where u can add location. I wd def send for oh when the time is right. Like u say u don't want to miss the opp. R u doing opks? Am on cbfm and have had highs since cd6. Last month I had peaks by now so its started to work by delaying ov. I keep telling myself that it won't work the first time so that I don't get too hopeful-easier said than done! My fs put me straight onto 100mg. She said there's no point wasting time although she also said I was 36 yrs young!! I have got a sinusy headache today but I also tend to get those anyway.

Green I've always heard people prefer taking it at night!

Good luck hun i'll be cheering you on !!!

Ladies I'm on my fourth month of clomid and I take it first thing in the morning ,I get headaches and dizziness but they go quite quickly :thumbup:Good luck :hugs:

I just finished my first round of clomid on cd 3-7, and took it in the evening. Only side effects I noticed were that I was a bit emotional for a couple of days. I was really nervous for the hot flashes I heard some women get, but didn't experience any - though I woke up sweaty a couple of times, so maybe I did have one but didn't wake up for it!

Wishing you lots of luck with this round!!:hugs:

Thank all for your comments and suggestions. I have been told to take my Clomid from CD2-6 which seems quite uncommon. I am very guilty of Googling too much and it seems that a CD2-6 is more likely to produce lots of follicles whereas as a later start to Clomid aims for one good healthy egg. I do ovulate on my own but surely I only want to produce one good egg. Just found out the girl I was bridesmaid to is pregnant with number 2. How do other people do it so easily?? I am feeling I should ship the OH up to Glasgow for my fertile window although the Clomid could upset my cycle so who knows when Ov will be???

Babydust all!

6 days early?? :winkwink: I ov quite early anyway - I think it was CD10 last month. Perhaps if we BD before I go away, we will be ok! DId CD2- 6 not work for you?

I just wanted to try different days Hun but maybe cd3-7 would be better for you if you usually o early :hugs:

Am cd 2-6 as well and was getting worried I'd only seen people on later cd. Does ur research of the earlier start mean increased chance of multiples? Think I would happily take a set of twins! Was googling the chances the other day and there was a lot of ladies on one website with twos and threes!

If AF arrives on time, I should be starting Clomid in 5 days. I've been a little reluctant about taking it for months because I had twins without the use of fertility drugs 14 years ago. We've been TTC for over a year and I have yet to get a BFP. I'm at the point now where my biological clock is ticking so loud that it's drowning out my fears of a multiple pregnancy. The more the merrier:winkwink:

HI there! I took mine during the day because it was easier for me and I suffer from migraines. I didn't get headaches and have finished a 2nd round of 100 mg on cd5-9. I do have mood swings big time though. Worse than the PMS kind. My poor hubby!! GOD help him lol

I haven't experienced any of the other side effects people talk about. I took will be 40 years old this year. I am waiting on AF and am late but don't know if it's from my clomid or what. I have always been pretty regular. No more than a 30-31 cycle and am now on like CD33 or 34. What do you think?

Mine is ticking too! 40 years old this year. I had a son 13 years ago but had 2 laporscopic procedures for endometriosis. I haven't had any treatment for it this time, only prescribed clomid of 100 mg cd 5-9. finished 2nd round. Fingers crossed for the BFP this time!! My poor hubby to have to deal with my horrible mood swings.

Got my peak on cbfm this morning on cd 12 so the clomid is def pushing my ov back to mid cycle. Come on little eggy/eggies!!

Awesome! I'll be taking 100mg Clomid days 5-9 next cycle...I've been ov'ing on CD9 or 10 most months, and I've been afraid that my eggs haven't had time to mature (haven't confirmed with US, but I will be having my first follicle US next cycle with Clomid). Hoping that ov'ing a little later will make a difference.

FX'd for you this cycle Ness!
