I just don't get it! I'm 35 and my cycle has always been regular as clockwork 32 days, occasionally 31 days. This got back to normal pretty soon after having my now 13 month old despite exclusively expressing. Then we found out our daughter had a rare genetic condition so we decided I would go back on the pill despite previously wanting to ttc straight away. As it turned out we got our genetic results back so quickly so I only took my pill (cerazette) for one month. But since then my cycle just won't regulate I have gone from 38 days to 34 days to 28 days last month and now 35 days and still nothing.

What's happening? Surely one month of bcp can't cause this many problems with my cycle? :(

Hi hun, I went on the pill for two months and never went back to normal. I don't know why.

Can I ask, is IP intercontinentia pigmentosa?

Yes it is (though we know it as Incontinentia Pigmenti)! Do you know of it? x

Oh yes sorry, I've just been reading about EB so got the osa from that lol. Yes, I'm a geneticist, or used to be, and a very good friend of mine has it, as does her little girl who is the same age as my lo. How is your little one doing? Has she lost sight in both eyes then? :(

Sadly yes. She wasn't born with the usual blistering so the first we knew was when her left eye started drifting out. By the time we had seen an ophthalmic specialist at 3 months the sight in her left eye was just about gone and then the vessels in her right eye started to re grow aggressively and despite 2 extensive laser surgeries she lost the sight in that eye by 7 months :( She didn't have any blistering until 5 months and really it's never been that bad. The condition has very much centred itself in her eyes unfortunately.

Very nice to meet someone who knows it though, it's a rare occurrence xx

Yes, I'm surprised to come across two people with it!

That's very sad about her sight, bless her heart. Do you go to Oxford?

No we don't though we have consulted with Oxford and Moorefields in London. For ophthalmics we see John Ainsworth in Birmingham and for everything else we have now transferred to Nottingham which is where we live.

I've never heard of vitex before but after researching it today I have ordered some. Thanks for the tip :)
