Anyone have any experience on a gender scan so early? Was it right or could they not tell? Thanks x

Wow didn't know you could have ome that early over here! Where you having it done? xx

With my dd they said girl at 13w and with this one they said girl at 14w (confirmed by genetic testing), so its definitely possible. With both scans the tech said she was 80% sure. I guess it depends on the tech doing the scan and the position of the baby. Good luck !!

edited to say it wasnt a gender scan we went to, it was just the normal nt scan.

In had one at 16 weeks and the sonographer pointed out a little willy.

I would take it as a bit of fun so early and check again at your next scan.

I have my anomaly scan on Tuesday and will be checking that Little mans outie hasn't turned into an innie. Lol

I wouldn't rely on what they tell you and take it as a fun scan and get it confirmed at a later date as at that stage it's very hard to be accurate. Most places I know won't scan you until 16 weeks to check for gender. Good luck x

We are having a gender scan done this wkend. Most places we looked at wont do til 16+ wks. Our lg was done at about 23 wks.

Xx

I know another lady on here had hers done there - Gemie i think. she said they are fab. I dont think.they do til 16 wks though according to their site as I was looking at booking with them

Xx

I phoned and asked the earliest and they said 14 weeks with an 85% accuracy if they can't tell you can go back at 16 weeks for free. It's only £45 too xx

i wouldnt trust it that early. i think people need to try and be patient, im dying to know the gender of my baby but im holding out to 20 weeks

We found out at 12 weeks 3 days through private scan - went back at 14 weeks and confirmed they were correct. I Think it hugely depends on the tech and the equipment being used. Good luck! Hope you get to find out!

Yep that's me :)

No they don't scan before 16 weeks for gender as its inaccurate before that time as girly bits can be swollen and look like boy bits. It's. bit of a waste of money IMO this early as you'll still be guessing they got it right or not. Just wait a few weeks and get a more accurate scan :)

Oh right, news to me as I was told last time and this not to go before 16 weeks

Have to say though I had a babybond justgender scan in mothercare merry hill too and it was soooo much better and more personal than peek a baby BUT you can't have it till 18 weeks so if you're dying to know then you'll probably not hold out until then x

Like others have said, I wouldn't trust it 100%, it can't be that accurate that early.
I didn't think anywhere would do it until at least 16 weeks..

We were gonna go to babybond again but have booked with cherish-uk. I will be 16+6 so fingers crossed its accurate. Lol. We will ask again at 20 wk scan but the hosp planted doubt last time which is why we ended up with private scan. Lol. I know 2 people who were told girk at 20 wk scan at my local hosp and at a later scan turned out to be boys. Lol.

Xx

Even 16 weeks is a little early to be sure, especially for if they say it is a girl. I've heard 80% accuracy until after 16 weeks. If sex is important to you, personally, I would think long and hard about doing a scan to ascertain sex before 20 weeks, because imagine hearing one thing and it turned out to be the other.

There is deffo always a chance of scans being wrong which is why they advise not 100%. I will be 16+6 . We will be happy with either, just excited to know and see baby again.
