But what's the difference between blw and tw?

My LO is just coming up 20 weeks so won't be getting weaned for a few more weeks yet but i was just curious to know lots about it before we start!

Also its best to wean at 6 months so they say but in weeks is that 24 or 26? Sorry stupid mummy alert

Blw is Baby Led weaning, basically it means letting your baby feed themselves and letting them eat what you are eating. You leave out any purees and spoon feedings.
The only spoon feeding you do is by offering a pre-loaded spoon so that baby is able to feed it themselves.

Tw is Traditional weaning and it is giving your baby purees by spoon feeding them yourselves, (some people use jars and some make their own).

Ive added a link on the Blw as I dont think Im very clear at explaining it, this may make it easier to understand :flower:

Also I asked my Hv the same about whether six months was either 24 or 26 weeks and she said that anytime between then would be fine. We started offering at 24 weeks but lo didnt start eating until 26 weeks :)

It's technically 26 weeks but I'm sure 2 weeks is no biggie.
