Went to my gyne appt today & he told me my pregnancy tissue showed some 'abnormal' cells.

I've been referred to the Charing Cross Hospital Trophoblast Disease Service, in London.

My gyne didn't know a great deal about how molars are treated right now (it changes quite often apparently) but he thinks TTC will be out of the question for a very long time. I'll need regular blood draws & monitoring.

As you can imagine, this has knocked the wind out of my already tattered sails! :(

I'm already 32 & have no children yet...

Dan-o, I am so sorry :hugs:.
I have been keeping up to date with your progress and am so sad  you are going through this too.

We seem to have had the same problems at the same time. I have also been told i had abnormal cells and that they think it is a partial molar. I was referred to the Scottish centre in Dundee to get proper diagnosis but I have to wait about 4 weeks until the results come through :hissy: !!

I hope this helps as there is little information out there.

I am now testing negative on HPT and have been told that if you test negative within 56 days (after removal) they keep testing you for at least 6 months to check your levels come down. If they don't come down within the first 56 days they test you for at least one year. During this time you cannot TTC.

I have been told not to use the pill as this can interfere with your hormone levels and may be a problem while they are still testing you.

I found this website very helpful

I know its hard hun, I am going through this myself, but we have to keep positive, :hugs: as only 0.5% of those of us who have had a partial molar pregnancy need to have further treatment.

And remember that there is still a good chance all will be well and we can start TTC again in 6 months.

I hope this helps - I know its horrible just now but there is still hope. I feel for you hun and hope you are getting support through this time

I am 32 also and also have no children yet, and hoping my time will come soon

I'm so sorry hun :( :hugs:

I can only imagine how upset and frustrated you must be :( I'm thinking of you and if you ever need to talk I'm always around:hugs:

Oh Dan-O huni Im sooo sorry for you hope you get some answers and some support soon :hugs: :hugs: xxxx

Im so sorry babe! I really am! Another angel mummy I know lost her baby and went on to have a MMC and then a molar....she was advised to stop for either 6months or a year (cant remember) aswell.... and was getting bloods and urine tested all the time....a few months after when all her levels were normal and staying the same...she fell pregnant even though she was advised not to and she is now about 8 weeks gone or something like that, so I hope your levels will go down quick and you can get the go ahead soon :hugs:

Donna xx

Hi Dan O. Its with sadness I read the next part of your horrendous story. While I cant claim to know anything about molar pregnancy, I do know a bit about methotrexate, the chemo drug that is used to treat molar, and which was one of the options I was given when my foetus was found to be in my tube.I had to research it as they were just about to go down that route of treatment before it ruptured.

I appreciate until you get more info it is difficult to antcipate the treatment, however depending on the number of doses of methotraxte and the duration of treatment you can be free to try after 6 months. I know that this seems like a long wait but after everything you have been through but the body needs time to recover anyway ( and I know that you are probably throwing things at the computer screen as I felt like doing myself!!)
I am 33 and have no children so i truly and deeply understand how you feel.
Please please please message/ private message if you feel like talking or if I can do anything.
I know cheesy PMA stuff is probably not what you want to hear right now, but at least you are moving towards an answer as to what is wrong. This hellish limbo you have been caught up in has been ongoing long enough.
My thoughts are with you, and please let me know if there is anything I can do.
Hugs XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

I am so sorry to hear about your news.

Please know that we are all here for you. :hugs:

I was thinking very similarly to what Mazza has said but didn't know how to put it so that it didn't come across as patronising or insensitive, but I think she has put it far nicely than I could have.

I am so sorry that you have not had particularly good news from the results but I hope the fact that there is some kind of answer and a potential treatment will help you move towards a happier ending.

I hope this comes across in the manner I mean it to
:hug::hug:

oh no! honey - don't know what to say. this is so upsetting. sending you lots of love and lots of hope that the treatment will go really well and that you won't have to wait as long as that. :hugs:
