Well it's more with LO's feet.

Freya had her first set of shoes in March. She was a 4.5g. Problem is they're still measuring her a 4.5g. I've had 4 different staff members in different Clarkes shops and they all say the same!

I've bought size 4.5g shoes in the past and she's never worn them as they're so tight to put on it's a real struggle!

I want to get LO some warmer shoes but don't want to waste more money on them. I don't see why they have to be so tight! Even the staff have to kind of screw the shoes on!

Shall I just ignore them and go for size 5? Is it normal to be the same shoe size for 7 months?!

my Lo has a high instep and even clrkes widest fitting is too tight on her. only one style of shoe in there fitted her. So we went to startright and find the fit there MUCH better! Try somewhere else!

clarks measure my lo as a 4f about 2 months ago and 3 weeks after she started outgrowing them.

yet the same time i got a pair of reguler size 4 from BHS and they still fit perfect.

so basically i think clarks r a waste of money

Hi the exact same thing happened too us. Sams shoes were getting too tight and they a real struggle too get on. I took him back too have his feet measured again and he was the same size. I have too really struggle too get his shoes on so I may just go elsewhere next time xx

My son was measured wrong 3 times at Clarks so I stay clear now.

i think they measure as close fit as humanly possible so u have to keep buying new shoes from them every few weeks lol

They did the same to us but twice, personally i think they want kids to grow out of them asap so they measure them as tight as humanly possible in hope us parents will be in the week after for new shoes! Now i always go half a size up and buy them from a trusted ebay seller (brand new in box) Works out approx £10 cheaper anyway!

Thanks, I've not heard of Startright, where are they?

Clarkes is the only kids shoe shop around here! :(

Ava's little feet haven't really grown much either. She was a size 4 for a long time and is a size 5 now and her feet are so chubby that I put her in a 6.5. I say you should go for comfort for your LO and buy a size bigger.

Tom always measures bigger at Clarks but the shoes always have plenty of growth space in them. They've all lasted 3 to 4 months except when his feet had a mega growth spurt at 16 months. Maybe its just girl's ones that come up small???

I'd try Start Rite or Hush Puppies instead - they both do 1/2 sizes and diff widths. John Lewis do both and I think Brantano do too.

Thanks everyone! I'm off to a different clarks tomorrow and will get the shoes I wanted but will go a size bigger.

If I have no luck there's a Brantano next door. I've never been I thought it was like a seconds shop! :/

When we went to Clarkes last week LO measured a 4.5G. I defo cant get others size 4.5 on her. These ones are roomier. However, the info leaflet that came with the shoes said they are made to allow an average 3mths worth of growth.

But i cant see that would last 7mths!!!

If you like the shoes i would just ask for the next size up.

I would go elsewhere to get her measured. My son keeps the same size shoes for a year but he's 4 now so i would expect that. It's not usual for a lo to be the same size for that long

Thanks, I've not heard of Startrite, where are they?

Startrite don't actually have their own shops. You will need to google them for a supplier in your area. Usually they only supply to one or two shops in an area. Try to steer clear of a shoe shop that sells clarks and startrite as the shop gets more of a cut from clarks so therefore push clarks shoes more.

Also another point to note is that clarks don't dye their shoes right through so therefore when you scuff them they show through as white. Startrite dye their shoes right through with black so when they get scuffed they aren't as bad.
