Hi there, here's a question for women who have had IVF and then taken progesterone.

I was lucky to have two blastocysts transferred on Friday and am now taking utrogestan.

I am having very painful cramps like my AF is due and that heavy feeling in womb. Same as I get every month. Although the blastcysts gives me a good chance, I am 41 so that is against me.

Could these cramps be a sign of using the progesterone or does it sound like the cycle is nearly over for me? Thanks. xx

Hi hon
Sorry I can't help I just wanted to wish you all the very best for your little blastocysts. Hope it works for you xx

the cramps could be a sign that they are implanting lovey

Thanks, I'd love that to be the case, but it just feels too painful and they're tiny. x

I had tons of cramping following my IVF!!! And now have twins from that cycle!

I started cramping the day after transfer and it still hasn't completely stopped! I think you're in with a great chance! Good luck!

I too had cramping after the transfer and it is still going! I am pregnant with twins. It could be normal for implantation or just the progesteron making a nice home for the embies!

:dust:

I had cramping too, towards the end of my 2WW, and I was convinced that it was a failed cycle. I was on progesterone from the day prior to ET. Today's my first drug free day since then.

Good luck with your cycle!

Thanks ladies, you have given me some hope. The thing that concerns me though is that I need to take paracetamol because of the pain..was it that bad for you? Thanks again. x

Greta, I haven't been through IVF yet but I just wanted to say good luck!! I hope these are good signs of the baby/babies snuggling in!

Greta, the first time I fell pg, ntnp 11 years ago, the only thing I remember clearly is AF like cramps about a 1 week before I was due that were just as bad and made me head for the paracetamol. I was so certain it was AF coming, i totally forgot about it all and it only 2 weeks later that it suddenly hit me that I should have had it 1 week before. The cramps continued for some time and I remember going to the doc when I was about 7 weeks before I was persuaded something was wrong.

I would say that cramps that strong 1 week early and no bleeding is a very very good sign that you have a bean sticking in you :hugs:

Hi there, well an update on me is that I got an :bfn: today. I feel sad. The nurse said the cycle had gone well but we were just unlucky. I also found out the blastocycts were only CC grade, so not the best quality.

I sort of knew that I felt the same as every month, despite a few waves of nausea. The progesterone I was taking really confused my body. Anyway, thanks for all your replies and support. I am taking a few months off from ttc.

:dust: to all. xx.
