Progesterone blood tests!

evening ladies,

just a quick question, how soon after ovulation occurs is it picked up by a progesterone blood test??
i know they are meant to b done 7DPO but can prog increases b picked up say 5-6DPO??

I dont think so, it needs to be done from cd21.

But then i suppose it would depend on how early you Ovulate

basically hun im no where nr 21 on cd51 from a scan i had last tues where by a big follicle was present and my gynae said it suggested i was about to OV that wk. had a positive OPK on fri just gone which hopefully means im releasing an egg hopefully yesterday or today!
confusing i know!
im am booked in for bloods on fri coming and was wondering if a prog rise would show up as i may be 5or 6DPO. so im far from the norm and with long cycles using averaging 38-45days day 21 wuld be well out for me!

reckon 7 dpo is wen progesterone is at it's peak - most things i have read say a day or so either way shouldn't affect ur result too much and they should be able to determine if u ov'd or not. I would think if they saw a big follicle on ur scan things are looking quite positive for u! GL

hey hun,my doc disreguarded my tests when i said it was 5dpo and my prog was only 2.7 and clearly not ovulating.hes said we can do one every month until we get exactly 7-8dpo as he said its nowhere near what it should be until 7dpo,hope this helps xx

ok ta both, not sure now whether i shud move it to a wk to moz then as i'd prob b around 8DPO then! wat u think xx

id definitely leave it till then hun,at least that way when the results come back it wont keep playing on ur mind wether their accurate or not xx

thank u hunnie! i will do that then i think, like u said its much betta to know 4 def and wait a few more days than get an inaccurate result for the 5th time hey!
