Hi, I'm 37 and LTTC, for about 4years now. My cycle is 25 days, generally. I'm currently using Duo Fertility to chart and have discovered that my LP is only about 10 days. I thought I was OV'ing around day 11 but I've found out that it's around day 14.

Looked on the internet and I'm now taking a vitamin B6 supplement but I'm concerned that I might have a Progesterone issue. I've been to my doctors today to ask for a blood test to check my hormones (the last time I had this done was in 2008) but i won't be able to have this done for another 10 days (I want it doing now lol). When I told my doc that I had been checking my symptoms on the net she just rolled her eyes lol.

Has anyone else got this issue and are you using a natural progesterone cream to help lengthen the LP? I'm concerned that after all these years I have actually been conceiving and because of a deficency I have been early miscarrying.

Any advice would be great, I am supposed to be OV'ing about now  and I want this time to be a sticker

Baby dust to one and all :hugs:

Teresa xx

Your luteal phase is too short, has your doc not commented on this? It makes implantation very difficult

None of my doctors or consultants have ever mentioned this to me and I have only found out because I have charted. I'm quite down about it tbh. From what I can gather my doctors may not be willing to prescribe Progesterone cream because it is too expensive.

This so bugs me about the NHS. Me and DH are healthy apart from this, but as its not life threatening we get treated so badly by NHS. Its our only need- its as though our taxes are going down the drain. Sorry to rant.

You need to be really assertive with docs, don't mention what research you have done and don't mention 'it says on the internet'. You will need to be quite forceful about asking to have something investigated. GPs are not fertility specialists so remember that. Good luck

I have a short luteal phase as well, I start spotting about 9dpo. I tried B6 and the natural progesterone cream but unfortunately they didn't help. I finally was prescribed Crinone this last cycle and had a 14 day LP for the first time since stopping BCP. It is pricey but have you asked your insurance about it? Ours doesn't cover fertility stuff but they covered this I guess since they don't know we're ttc and progesterone isn't a fertility-only med. HTH!

We're NHS in uk so they prescribe the cheapest they can regardless of the success of it. Sounds strange but has anyone else tried Omega fish oil supplements, flax seed oil and sweet pots?? They are all supposed to naturally raise progesterone. I am trying them all!!
