progesterone pills cause hemorrhoids?

My midwife prescribed me clomid, estrogen pills and progesterone pills to use to get pregnant. About a day and a half after I started the progesterone pills hemorrhoids started to show up. I took the pills for only a week because the hemorrhoids were getting really bad. Itchy and painful. It's now been a week since I stopped taking it and I still have the hemorrhoids they aren't painful but they are still itchy and annoying. Was it the progesterone pills that caused this or is it something else? I've tried over the counter creams and it will help for a little bit but nothing is making them go away completely. Just wanted to see if anyone knows if progesterone pills can cause this. Thanks!
