Hi all

We have decided we are getting LO a striker balance bike for his 2nd birthday.

He takes after his daddy he is very adventurous, has no fear, he is very much an out door child, was walking unaided at 8 months  climbs everything and anything etc...

so i am pretty sure that he is going to invent new ways to make me jump out my skin with the balance bike so im wondering want protective wear people would recommend ?? I definetly will be getting him a helmet but if there anything else that would be benificial?

Maybe it's just me but i didn't even think about getting anything other than the helmet for mine. Daniel has always just had a helmet and when we give Esther her balance bike she'll just have a helmet too.

Daniel has been riding his balance bike for 2 years now and has also been riding a proper bike without stabilisers for 1 year. In all that time he's never had anything other than minor grazes from it. He's fallen off quite a number of times - pretty much every time he goes out on it i'd say lol - as he has no concept of anything!!

We only have a helmet for River, a few scraped knees wont do any harm.

Yeah, we've only got a helmet too... he wears kiddies cycling gloves when it's cold/wet but that's it really x

thanks ladies

Yeah il prob end up just putting a helmet on him. I just worry about his knees a bit as they are never cut/graze free. if they were given the time to heal over they prob scarred already :/ :( he will cut his knee and then graze it again before its even healed
